Charles Barkley Was Lucky to Have Dr J for This Lesson 🙏 | @AllTheSmokeProductions #shorts

Charles Barkley was drafted out of college by the Philadelphia 76ers and as a rookie with a guaranteed contract, was spending his money on frivolous purchases such as cars. It’s been well documented that Charles gives thanks to Moses Malone for motivating him to get into shape to become the Hall of Fame player he became but Charles has also shown thanks to another legend that he had as a teammate, Dr J himself. Dr J saw how Charles was spending his money as a young, successful athlete gave him some perspective on how to manage his new found fortune. The importance of having good vets has always been stressed as an important factor in a player’s development in professional sports and Charles Barkley is a prime example of just how great one can be with the right guidance. All three are absolute legends. Another greant podcast from All The Smoke, make sure to watch their full episode on their YouTube channel!

  1. I'm a sixers fan My favorite all-time player Dr j by far. Allen Iverson number two. Charles Barkley number 3 and I know Barkley is a very smart person and he is a great guy he always gives people that other people don't think deserves a chance he gives that person the chance. Dr j was incredible he was Michael Jordan before Michael Jordan. If Michael Jordan was Air Jordan then Dr j he was the mile high man

  2. Yes but no.. u never know when your last day is. Kobe was a damn super hero damn near and made it to 41.
    7 cars !

  3. Even though Charles would’ve been fine with more cars. That advice from doc was not bs, he got paid a fraction of what the next generation was getting paid. The ABA and NBA in the 70s weren’t that deep in talent because a lot people would make more money dealing drugs if they were from that area.

I forget his one name but him and doc would play in that famous park in NY even after doc went pro and the guy couldn’t make it until the 2nd half due to his “other job”

  4. That's a intelligent observation..i'm praying for a miracle that i become a millionaire and still keep working❤🙏

  5. That's why you gotta watch who you habe around you. They'll either help you grow or take you down with them.

  6. Son, you have to support your mom. She bred her support system (you) and kicked your daddy to the curb before you could even talk. The entire black community needs to ask themselves why they HAVE to support their moms. Think.

  7. This is why vets are so important. The nba don't value them, they know the young pups coming into the league needs them. High class level of slavery because of the money they bring in for those who own everything.

  8. How many shirts, pants ,shoes, hats, and belts do you wear at a time. Doesn't make amy sense.

  9. Doc and Moses were OGs from the 70s, giving advice to an 80s chuck. Think about today's players…what OG players are giving personal advice (not social media banter) to the youngsters and what youngsters have enough respect for the OGs to listen ?

  10. I don't agree with the fact that he said. This money's gotta last you for the rest of your life. You know what doesn't you can be a millionaire in the n. BA and beep come broke, you just gotta get a job. That's all?

  11. To make a statement to say that the money's gotta last you the rest of your life. No, it does not nothing has to do anything or got to, that's up to you.If you blow your money, you gotta get a job

  12. The thing that’s so great about all the stories Chuck tells and what ppl often overlook is, he listened. You know how many 5th overall picks wouldn’t listen to nobody?? He was humble enough to listen

  13. He definitely making more than enough after his NBA career 😂 he still got his nike deal and he's on that one show with shaq ernie and kenny the jet

  14. I had the privilege of having lunch with Dr. J and he was as impressive off the court as he was on. A true gentleman.

  15. That's great advice to give to a 12 year old…the fact that Charles was in his 20s and didn't understand the common sense value of money is sad

  16. You can't say he wasn't smart! Smart people are those who surround themselves with smart people& listen to them!!!
