Every time I watch him dunk on a fast break I wince. He lands so awkwardly and with so much force on his legs.
i like to still think kats an ironman but its been a long time.
when does bad luck = injury prone? because there was some literal bad luck thrown in there like getting hit by a semi, covid, etc
I wish him well, I do. But I guarantee his trade value will never be higher than it will be this season, pre trade deadline. The fact that a multiple allstar in his twenties attracts no significant value in return is proof he is overrated and overpaid.
Dont shoot the messenger. We have a great team now.
it does make you worry.
Honestly he needs to lose weight. He’s too heavy which sucks to say cause hes not even fat.
It’s a thing, but outside of the meniscus injury I don’t think anything he’s dealt with are indicative of future problems. Some of it is just bad luck. We’ll see how the knee holds up over a full season, but lots of guys have gotten the surgery and still are productive. KAT does have the kind of game that will probably age well. Maybe he has less drive game as he enters his 30s, but I think most of us would be fine with him shooting more and driving into 2-3 guys and getting dumb offensive fouls.
To be fair, the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons were cut shortened due to COVID. They were 64 and 72 games respectively.
Most of the injuries weren’t really that much about being injury-prone. Falling and breaking your wrist is somewhat linked to play style but isn’t really an indicator of future injury potential.
The thing that has me most worried is the meniscus injury and repair. It sounds like a trim happened, which tends to have long-term implications.
I mean…he just missed time this year to get a meniscectomy. The positive of that procedure is it let him return in time for the playoffs. The negative is they just cut the damaged cartilage out instead of trying to fix it. So he’s missing some shock absorption in his knees. Probably not great for career longevity.
