Now We Know WHY Jokic Wants Westbrook…

Russell Westbrook may have finally found a home in the NBA, and he’s lucky enough that he’s now with a championship contender.

Ever since leaving the OKC Thunder in 2019, Westbrook has struggled to find a team that wants him. He bounced around a few times in Houston, Washington, and Los Angeles before the Clippers waived him. However, the Denver Nuggets didn’t waste time taking him into the free agency market at the request of none other than Nikola Jokic himself.

So, if you’re wondering why the best player in the world wants Westbrook, you might want to stick around to find out.

In today’s video we look at Now We Know WHY Jokic Wants Westbrook…

  1. MPJ is a career 41% 3 point shooter. Dario Šarić shoots 37% from distance & Denver has two excellent shooters who were rookies last year & while their numbers don't show it yet, both Julian Strawther & Hunter Tyson will be 40% 3 point shooters as well when they get some consistent court time. Russ brings leadership off the bench if he can adjust his game.

Malone got Boogie Cousins to do that so anything is possible.

  2. "Let" Bruce Brown go? Denver could NOT come close to matching the offer from the Indiana Pacers. They were literally barred by the terms of the CBA from doing so. Now KCP was possible to keep IF the Nuggets ownership was willing to take the hit by bouncing into the '2nd wall' of the new CBA. They weren't so KCP took the significantly better offer. Did that hurt… oh my goodness yes, but KCP didn't make the All-Star team either. Now Russ REALLY stepped up his defense for the Clippers. So much so that he became their 2nd best stopper after multi All-NBA and All-NBA Defensive team Kawhi. Russ has never had a major injury and you can still see plenty of 'bounce' in his athleticism. Personally, I think after this season folks will look back at the Russ Westbrook pickup as the 'sleeper' homerun of the off-season.

  3. I thought LeBron James was the best player in the world!? 😂 it's funny how indy media knows the truth but the so called pros will say anything for the right price.

  4. Tired of this false narrative that Jokic is the best. He clearly isn’t not in the least. That title belongs to Giannis or even LeBron still.

  5. When did Jokic ask for Westbrook? Not a single source said he had anything to do with the trade, he was at Olympics and attending horse races in Serbia.

  6. Russ mvp season averaging triple double and the game winning 3 to knock nuggets out the playoffs at home probably helped with jokics decision

  7. His atletik ability still is amazing dude! What you talking bout?! Last season,do you watch his top dunks?!!! Show some respect!

  8. Starting Lineup if they are smart is Westbrook at PG, Murray at SG, Porter Jr at SF, Gordon at PF and Jokic at C. Westbrook has always had a shot just not a 3 point shot, the game is now lazy and promoting uncoordinated, lazy players for the current trend and creating the decline in viewership, along with lack of defense. Jokic is not the best player in the league and it is more evident every year. Murray doesn't play point guard well he has low assists and is better in set shots or dribble drives off the pass.

  9. "But when Alot of different teams improving their roster" proceeds to show a clip of the Lakers 😂😂😂 you must be a bronsexual cause Lakers have done nothing to be better

  10. Denver misses Bruce Brown. Russ fills that role pretty well. High energy. Will rebound, will hustle and be that dog. He will trash talk too. Denver missed that. Not too worried about Braun replacing KCP.

  11. The only good decisions Nuggets made were:

    1. Releasing Will Barton.
    2. Signing Aaron Gordon.

    Now the bad decisions.

    1. Release Grant
    2. Release Brown
    3. Release Campazzo
    4. Sign Jordan
    5. Release Caldwell Pope
    6. Giving max contract to Murray
    7. Signing Jackson

  12. Yeah it can make sense. Westbrook doesn't need to run the offence and doesn't need to play full minutes. I can see it working out.

  13. This is a masterclass in how to make a 45sec YouTube Short into an (almost) 10min video. Geez….
