My favorite basketball highlights are passes. I’ve watched every great passers’ highlight reel countless times. Bird/Magic have some insane, creative passes. But this fucking pass is probably the best pass I’ve ever seen, in 20+ years of watching the NBA, on so many levels. The degree of difficulty on this pass is as high as it gets.
It is so hard to make cross court passes like this, but the fact it was also under the basket and he was being trapped opposite baseline… It’s just insane. That’s perfect defense. He is in the worst spot on the court and still manages to somehow throw a perfect dime into the hands of a 3pt shooter. Passes like this *always* sail on you and float high. It’s crazy he avoided hitting the basket or backboard.
