Being an appealing destination for Cade once he gets out of that incompetent shitshow in Detroit is near the top of the list, albeit obviously below the obvious thing.
Correct on Victor being top 20 and you can absolutely make an argument he’s top 15. I probably have him in that 15-18 range.
The bearded guy is a dope when it comes to basketball. A mere 35 wins???? The Spurs were 6-4 in their last ten games. Wemby will be improving and the addition of CP3, Barnes and Castle makes them even better.
When ranking players and you have a player who is a mortal lock for DPOY this season as well as someone who will score a minimum of 25 points a game and could easily score 30ppg with CP3 feeding him, has to put him in the top three unless defense doesn't count.
You guys are driving me nuts! Wemby's ppg last year was based on his playing well under 30 minutes a night for half the season. He averaged 23-34 points a game after the All Star break still with somewhat limited minutes. Does anyone believe that with CP3 and more minutes played, Wemby's scoring average will increase but a miserly 2-3 points per gsme??
Giving an all nba selection to a guy leading a 35 win team is generational glazing, especially if theyre putting up low 20s ppg on 32% 3p shooting and 35% midrange shooting on a combined 10.2 attempts per game. no one seems to have concerns for the shooting efficiency that he's advertised to be elite at. those percentages and attempt volume put him in shot chucker conversations. plus you'd expect a guy at 7'5 to lead the league in rim scoring efficiency but he was only in 73rd percentile. worse than guys like 6'2 payton pritchard, 6'2 tre jones, 6'4 cason wallace, 6'0 davion mitchell, 6'2 jared butler in RIM SCORING EFFICIENCY. and DPOY to a guy anchoring the 8th worst defense is laughable
last season 22 winning games were with asterisk….Pop benched Wemby intentionally late in the game just to loose the game…..and based on post the all star game performance, the winning percentage should be way way higher… Hence with the addition of CP3 and HB, Spurs should win way more than 22 games next season. 35 games should be too consevative…..
Guys… Wemby was on a minutes restriction the entire first half of the season, and they purposefully played with the Sochan PG experiment so they can intentionally LOSE games. That’s why we got Castle. 🏰
After the All-Star break, Wemby averaged 24 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 blocks per game in 32 minutes per game, the last 23 games.
With Castle 🏰 and CP3 at point guard ALL season, and Wemby playing 32 minutes, his stats will easily climb to 30-15-8-5. Wemby will average nearly a 5×5, and have several games of 5×5. He will also record several Triple Doubles… and will be the first NBA player to stack multiple Quadruple Doubles. I think David Robinson is the last player to record a Quadruple Double.
Victor Wembanyama WILL win DPOY, MIP, and he will be in the running for MVP. Mark my words..
With those stats, and our new roster, Spurs will be a 40 win team this season. BET!
This team will spend one more year looking to maximize their assets by losing games
Spurs are going to surprise people this year and Stephon Castle is flying under the radar. He's going to be a rookie that contributes to winning right away.
I do wonder if Chris Paul knows everyone talks about him this way…. "He's great — BUT he's 39." Like the asterisk of it all. I hope that motivates him. And the truth is, they don't really need him to be all that good. Tre Jones was solid last year and now he's the backup PG — now arguably one of the best backup point guards in the league. When CP3 misses games, Tre Jones will be able to step right in that role without missing a beat, with Castle there to cover as well.
Think people are probably OVERESTIMATING the Clippers and what they can be and really underestimating the Spurs. There's a world where the Clippers really spiral with their annual injuries and attrition and the Spurs and other teams are there to vacuum up those wins.
