Klay has NO Pressure with The Mavericks
Klay Thompson now joins Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the Dallas Mavericks this year. Gilbert Arenas tells the Gil’s Arena crew that he should have no pressure this year. Compared to when he was with the Golden State Warriors, he shouldn’t feel the need to score 20-23 points per game. It won’t be a losing season because he has Kyrie and Luka carry the team’s heavy load. Taking the pressure off Klay will open him up to be a great shooter and player in the NBA again Gil says.

I luv Klay, but he got spoiled when KD joined the Dubz. You could see he started to depend on being the open man. When the prospects started to show their talents, it was another hit on his ego. If only the injuries never happened to Klay… I guess we'll never know…

Exactly, in my opinion that’s what made him sell so much in his last days with gsw, he was trying to be 2016-17-18 klay which forced him to do too much and make bad decisions. Mavs is a opportunity for him to build himself back to the player he used to be

FACTS
I love Klay and wish him the best even though he left GS. But the man is washed. Maybe it has to do with the injuries and the mental scars that it left on him but he is at a point where is at his Ray Allen near the end of Celtics tenure going into last tenure with the Heat phase. He had a place that best benefited him that reduced the pressure on him by coming of the bench but his pride got in the way (and maybe rightfully so). I'm just thinking, if the Mavs were to get to a point where Klay is coming off the bench it spell the end of Klay and the blackballing by the media like they did with Russ. Klay has NO pressure with Mavs until they start losing important games. If you are a starter who is "supposed" to be the difference-maker playing for a contending team then you SHOULD have pressure.

It Wasn’t just the 20 it was his high level defense too, helped hide Steph the weakest link on defense
Even a game where he shoots little the fact that defense gotta stay with him and keep in mind he’s around is mega helpful!
Injuries happen so he may need to be the number 2 guy at some point during the season.

I dont itll work. Clay gonna be mad cause both irving and luka are ball dominant players. Yes klay is a catch and shoot guy but spacing alone i cant see it being flawless. They will have to work miracles with them.
We all know if Klay lays an egg, everyone is going to dog him and say he "needed to be next to steph" or "see we said he was washed". There's plenty of pressure on klay😂
