  1. Shaq feels threatened by dominant big men who may someday be named above him among all-time great centers. It’s just pride and jealousy. I like Shaq, he’s a good man, but he can be prideful.

  2. So, since Shaq feels jump-shooting big men can't be dominant I guess he would not count Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant among dominant big men. Ultimately, a field goal is a field goal whether it's from the paint or the perimeter.

Shaq had no perimeter game, and imagine how many more titles he would have won if he had developed one and had become a good free throw shooter. Much of what he has said over the years has shown him to be petty and jealous.

  3. Shaq cannot see the center position outside of himself being THE template, he only considers HIS strengths, uses himself to benchmark others, and is ALL about the physicality! When he talks about being "dominant" he means physically dominant, not in terms of points scored or general impact on the game.

  4. Shaq was PHYSICALLY dominant, but most would agree that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a jump shooting big man and a VERY dominant player in HIS OWN WAY. Kareem 38,000 points. Shaq 28,000 points.

  5. When Shaq talks about dominance, he probably is thinking about physical dominance dunking on everybody like him. In this modern era of basketball where lots of players can shoot 3s, Wemby needs to learn how to be able to knock down his jumpers and the only way to do that is to have more reps and learn his best spots on the court so he has better shot selection. Lots of players have proven that you can be dominant everywhere on the court. KD, Dirk, Embiid, Jokic, and KAT are all big men who can shoot jumpers and are a big help to their team because of that ability. Shaq is just insecure of any big men who has the potential to surpass him. I don’t even think Wemby cares to be the most dominant big man. His potential is far greater than that. Wemby wants to be the GOAT and I hope and pray that after everything is all said and done, Wemby is included in that GOAT conversation in the future. I hope Wemby has a long, successful, and healthy NBA career.

  6. He's just hatin because he is not acknowledged by wilt or hakeem. In today's nba, shaq will just be a bench as he wont even last a quarter without fouling out.

  7. He will never say someone is better than him. The center position is no longer what it was. Gotta grade amd make the opinion on modern NBA.

  8. I'm sorry the guy who led the league in blocked shots as a rookie isn't dominant? You can be dominant in more ways than one, Shaq is a hater.

  9. Shaq hates everybody that could be a threat to his legacy. Shaq was raw power with only mediocre skill and he hates that bigs are more skilled nowadays. Such a shame that his ego is always in his way

  10. He’s just saying saying it to get in Wemby’s head so Wemby will play more physical. It reminds me of when he said Donavon Mitchell isn’t him (to him directly) and then Donavon started reaching new heights. Just for Shaq to be like “I told him he wasn’t HIM to push him” type ish.

  11. basketball seen by Shaq: big beefs slapping each other.

basketball, like all team sports, brings together diverse players who play their basketball according to their quality.

Shaq was unable to achieve more than 1 of 2 FTs per game, unable to make a 3-point…

so what? he played with his qualities. Point.

  12. The funniest thing about this take is that Shaq fails to realize Wemby is SO dominant that he gets the LUXURY of being able to shoot jumpers. Something Shaq might be a little jealous about
