Thibs says he thinks Randle can play the 5 for the Knicks this year. This would be absolutely incredible for the Knicks’ roster construction since they’re so loaded with talent on the wing.
Two possible lineups:
Brunson/Hart/Bridges/OG/Randle
– This is my favorite. 5 out lineup is critical to beat the Celtics “math problem.” Hart is genuinely an elite rebounder and I think he and Randle can team up to clean the glass. OG and Bridges provide weak side shot blocking, I guess?
Brunson/Divincenzo/Bridges/OG/Randle
– This is an elite 3pt shooting lineup. It can help the Knicks catch up in a hurry when they’re down big. If there’s a slow footed center on the floor cough Embiid, Porizingis cough they’ll be extremely vulnerable to this lineup.

Unless it’s the closing lineup, we could also just have Deuce instead of Brunson. Surround Randle with 4 great perimeter defenders
Randle at the 5 is desperate/delusional. If we are relying on those lineups, we have problems.

The most likely lineup would be in brunsonless minutes imo.
McBride, a combo of donte, hart, og, and mikal at the 2-4, and Randle at the 5. Basically run him as a point center, shit would be awesome offensively and have no weakness defensively 1-4
Jesus fucking Christ,NO Zack, the Knicks didn’t take off without Randle, look at their record. And NO, Bridges is a guard for the purposes of this discussion and is going to start at the 2 and Randle will play at least 10 minutes a night as the center on offense and I know that because Tibs SAID that this week.
