Last I heard/saw was in the Sugar Land area, but that was just after the Covid lockdowns happened. He looked healthy, and was approachable with a happy vibe about him.

I met him last year at the Bayou City Art Festival. I was on my way out, he was on his way in. It was kind of funny, I probably wouldn’t have noticed Steve because my wife was pushing our baby in the stroller and he was getting fussy so I bent over to check on him, but Steve coughed really hard in our direction so we looked toward him with a “wtf?” look and he said “oh shit my bad bruh.” I said “all good man” but then I did a double take and realized who it was. I went to him and said “hey man are you Stevie Franchise?” He said yeah what’s up, we dabbed up and I asked for a picture. We talked for a minute. I told him my first ever Rockets game was seeing him and Hakeem play at the Compaq Center. He said oh that’s dope and then asked me how the festival was. I said it’s pretty nice, he said cool thanks and went our separate ways.
