In this episode, we explore the Orlando Magic’s upcoming season, starting with their projected lineup featuring Jalen Suggs, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, and Wendell Carter Jr. We take a closer look at Paolo Banchero’s development as he enters his third NBA season, focusing on his high usage rate and the need to improve his shooting efficiency. Jalen Suggs is also in the spotlight, with discussions on his potential to make significant strides this season, especially with more minutes on the court.

Jonathan Isaac’s health and role remain uncertain, but his potential impact is significant if he can maintain his fitness. Additionally, we address the crowded center rotation, including Wendell Carter Jr., Mo Wagner, and Goga Bitadze, and how this might influence playing time distribution. Tune in for a comprehensive analysis of these key topics as the Magic gear up for the new season.

  1. Need an “under the lens” for Shams now that Woj has retired. I’m expecting a significant usage jump

  2. Jett had a good year in the G League. This past summer league, he really improved from his first. That shot maker that the Magic need can definitely come from him.

  3. I like Paolo as a prospect but he is already valued by some people as a definite future dominant superstar in real life and in fantasy and I’m not sold yet he’s quite that level

Ik this comparison is not entirely fair but the gap in efficiency and +- isnt meaningless and is pretty substantial. Paolo top 10 in dynasty feels like assuming a lot of progress and ik his ceiling is that high but the numbers so far indicate that is a reach

  4. Scottie and Wemby are definitely stat padders who cares more about their stats than to win. Paolo is the other way around he doesn’t care about his stats only win

  5. Josh. In your segment on Paolo Banchero, you used a nice scatter graph on his FTs, but that red line? What's up with that? Graph is a PERFECT opportunity to employ freshman calculus and create a true regression line, which, I have to point out, is ALWAYS perfectly straight, and would have perfectly shown the downward trend, mathematically. You know, the "line of best fit". What that twisting red abomination is that you showed, saddens me, for the unfulfilled rare opportunity to actually use differential calculus. Ah well. The endless waiting continues…

  6. I took Franz Wagner at pick 56 in round 6 in my ESPN Roto League. This is my 1st year playing Roto so my expectations are I will be realizing my mistakes when the season starts.

  7. Hey Josh, new to fantasy basketball and loving the vids. Was wondering if you could do a reaction to the new espn points league ranking. Doing my draft next week (12 person points league on espn, I got pick one) and would love to see who you think is still rated to low

  8. Hey Josh, in LOFBB, where is the setting to combine the weeks of the in-season tournament (12/9-12/22)? I’m trying to do this for another league and cannot find the setting. Is it only for premium leagues?

  9. i kept banchero as a keeper instead of brunson. hoping for more improvement but it seems bleak with this pre-season fantasy preview

  10. Hey Josh, I noticed in the google sheet it mentioned – "Draft Start Date: October 2, 2024, if the division is full. The draft will begin no later than October 8, 2024.". Currently it is set on Oct 7 for the division I'm in. Is there a chance it gets moved earlier or that's the final date?

  11. Whats the settings you have set … curious, been running my points league for 8 years always looking to improve đŸ€”

  12. I don’t think you can say Jett had a terrible season. He just didn’t get minutes because there were no minutes for him. He spent his whole time in g league and only played on the main roster during blowouts. Not like Grady sick who most people thought they shoulda picked was playing well with actually getting rotation minutes with main roster
