  1. Tim duncan was definitely the anchor of that team lol. He literally got Finals mvp in that series. Idk what homie is talking about lol

  2. I think Sheed has a bit of jealousy towards Tim. He's always saying these little slights. David was still pretty good during the 99 championship team. But the 03 championship, David avg 8.6 ppg that season.

  3. Robinson was one of the most athletic centers I have ever seen. He may not have had the fundamentals of Duncan, the post moves of Hakeem, or the power of Shaq. Yet he still carried that Spurs team to the playoffs through most of the 90's. It would be scary to think how much better he would have been if he developed his game those two years he spent in the Navy and if he had some better role players around him before Duncan joined the team. The Spurs may have gotten a championship or two before that 1999 season.

  4. First two years they were pretty even but Dave’s back problems were already slowing him down a little bit. After The Tim Duncan’s third year was over and he resigned, it was all Tim all day.

  5. For clarification from someone older than dirt, because of the presence of Robinson, who drew the tough defensive assignments from big men around the league, it enabled Timmy to develope into the best weekside defender in nba history. On offense, the presence of Robinson down low, helped Timmy become the best pf of all time working from the elbow. So in a way, without Robinson, Timmy would've had a rougher start to his career, but still would have ended up great….and don't forget that Robinson sacrificed the first couple years of his career to serve otherwise, his stats would rival all other great big men

  6. I guess it depends on what everyone’s definition of the anchor is, my definition is they aren’t the best player on the team but the one that keeps everyone focused, always reliable, you know what you are getting. David was that near the end when Duncan came in and Duncan became the anchor in his later years for the Spurs

  7. David Robinson easily the most athletic Center Hakeem and Duncan most skilled offensively and Defensively

  8. Now in fairness Robinson has a scoring title a league MVP and 2 chips I'm giving Duncan the edge because he kicked prime Shaq A-s in 2003 at the staple center
