Lol talk about a swing and a miss with the Bulls return comments 😅

  2. BatmanHive

MVP Rose was one of the most exciting players I witnessed, shame injuries kept messing him up.

  3. thesqrrootof4is2

I mean, we figured as much

But is his full retirement video teased from his IG out? Cause it would’ve been nice hearing it from him first rather than Shams reporting it even tho DRose told him first anyway

  4. Rockstar408

Never got to see what he could have been, yet still had many incredible moments over the years

  5. Jimmy0034

I wish he had one more season with bulls before retiring

  6. DaKingindaSouff

Such an exciting player loved his mentality.

It sucks that DRose never actually reached his prime

It’s crazy that, because of the injuries, he really only had one truly elite season. His prime was a lot shorter than I remembered.

He was also a lot more consistent off the bench in the years after that than he is given credit for. His comeback with all the added moves was impressive.

Man this sucks to see. I didn’t watch basketball when he was in his prime but his highlights are awesome to watch.

It’s such a shame his career got derailed by the ACL injury. I hope he makes the Hall of Fame but it’s a tough decision to make.

    I hope he enjoys retirement.

Now walk with me for a moment and imagine a world where his knees didn’t vaporize

  11. Outside_Abroad_3516

Well I was not expecting this at all… one of if not the biggest what ifs in NBA history if he didn’t get injured

  12. RowboatCop-

The only D Rose. Kendrick was dumb for calling the other guy that.

  13. LordHussyPants

i didn’t watch the NBA when rose won his MVP, but i watched it when he had the 50 spot at minnesota.

that game was hype, and i’ve rarely felt so excited to see a player on a team i don’t give a shit about achieve something. watching him play was a sight to behold.

  14. I am sad as hell, my favourite player.

    Shout out d rose man

  15. semepaau

Simply one of the absolutely most entertaining players to ever play.

  16. MinePlay512

I wish him the best in his future ahead.

  17. Necroassassin32

Started watching NBA in his MVP season. One of the greatest What Ifs of all time.

    Thank you 🥀

such a shame that injuries stopped derrick rose from reaching his prime years

  19. LeFxckYouThree

Absolutely amazing player to watch at his peak

  20. Give him a 1 day contract.

    He should retire a Bull..

  21. _NautyByNature

Somebody shoulda taught the man how to land

  22. The_Godfather5

Electric player on his day but sadly his day wasn’t that long

Sadly the legend of D-Rose ended up being bigger than the actual D-Rose’s career

Writing him out as ‘what if’ is downright disrespectful. The guy won an MVP award during LeBron James’s prime, with Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, KG, D Wade, Melo in the league and with ascending Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, etc.

He is in an elite group in regards to his achievements and was able to transform himself and stay in the league more than he should have considering how much his injuries affected his style of play.

He will always have his mvp, the performances for Timberwolves late in his career and the love of the nba community and fandom. Yes, we all wish we could have seen him do what he did in 2011 for a decade, but he still deserves a lot of flowers for what he achieved.

My first basketball shoes were D-Rose Adidas. He is an icon.

  24. TooGoodNotToo

Rose belongs in an important group, guys the were an injury away from being one of the all time greats. Grant Hill, Yao Ming, T-Mac, Penny, Bill Walton…

#Windy city assassin does it again
#Big time players make big time plays
#Too big too strong too fast too good
I’ll never get tired of hearing those calls. Thank you

  26. NormalHuman1001

It’s sad that we never witnesses his prime and peak.

  27. needaburnerbaby

I will always wish D Rose was given Westbrooks longevity. Dude could have been one of the greats.

  28. TheMoorNextDoor

Amazing start but unfortunate roadblocks in his career.

Definitely deserves his respect, to even make 15 seasons after those terrible injuries is something amazing in itself.

  29. readball

I read his book, and I like it, but it was weird when he lamented that his injury was not THAT bad, he somehow made it sound like it made him stronger “inside” or something like that. I think that is BS, he doesn’t believe it either, but that is what he wants to show for the outside.

Also, being an introvert – at least that is how he sounds, it sucks when you play a team sport, where you should be hyping up your team, and/or give speeches 🙂

overall – I personally really liked watching him play

  30. No-Inevitable7018

Legend in my eyes. I’ll never forget that 2010-2011 season.

DRose gonna go out there and rape that act two of life!
