Wizards GM Will Dawkins says the Wizards are still in the ‘deconstruction phase’ of their rebuild. He said there are four phases: deconstruction, laying the foundation, building it up and then fortifying what they’ve built.

The laying the foundation comment is a little concerning to me given we’ve now made five draft picks and I’d certainly hope some of them are considered part of that. I’m gonna choose to interpret laying the foundation as “waiting for Flagg/Traore/Harper/Bailey”
Atleast the Commanders are looking to be a good fix for the pain that is the wizards regular season for a couple years.
I will be surprised if any member of the current team is still here when we are contending for championships. I think of the sixers trading MCW because he was too good too fast.
I mean the Wall/Beal era followed the same plan as well, the only difference is we decided to fortify our core with Ian Mahinmi and Andrew Nicholson lol
