[McMenamin] Rob Pelinka, when asked about pursuing trades to turn the team into a contender, says “we believe in this group” but added that it will take 30 games or so to properly evaluate what the team has this season.

Sounds like another year of being a play-in team that belongs no where near the conversation of winning a championship. At this point just hope LeBron plays his final years injury free and prepare yourselves for the shitshow when we blow it up 2 years from now

Basically wait until the trade deadline (and then wait until the offseason). Lather rinse repeat.

Puts us around the Dec 15 date where newly signed players can get traded… like Jonas Valanciunas
Consistent_Owl4593
He ain’t making any moves but he can’t just flat out say it so I understand
Benotheking
So last season wasn’t enough ? I’m all for waiting for the best possible moves but to say in 30 games, like this is a brand new team is ridiculous imo.
Cliffcastle
thanks Rob thats an amazing strategy…

I wouldnt mind spending some draft capital for wendell carter. Seems like the exact type of player we need
dash_44
Rob seems to consistently have trouble evaluating teams. That’s concerning because its a core part of his job.
Gristle__McThornbody
Two seasons hasn’t been enough? Fucking Darvin Ham of GMs we got here.
Zephrok
There are no meaningful trades. Rob knows this, we know this, why are people still pretending that there are solid backups bigs, 2nd ball-handlers, and 3&D players growing in trees? Any trade will be at the margins at best.

We’re actually in a decent spot right now. Decent team, lots of valuable role players and 2x picks. DLO has to get packed by the deadline for sure whatever trade we do with him will determine our playoffs success though
Tangentkoala
Can anyone name 1 team that made a significant blockbuster trade 30 games in, that pushed the team to win a ring.
Miserable-Lawyer-233
He says that every year. But it would be counterproductive for him to talk about trades when he wants the team to start strong.
goatnxtinline
This is pretty much the same team that they had last season, so they should know what they have. The 30 games is to see what that team can do under reddicks system instead of whatever the hell ham had going on last season.
Dmz443
30 GAMES!!??

Have to wait until Ariza gets back to see

Play in and knocked in the first round. Disastrous offseason
