  1. First. Derrick Rose for all the memories and the excitement I got of watching him play basketball and wanting to be like him since I was a kid and just playing basketball in general he will always be my favorite player for as long as I live. 🌹😢

  2. it’s a real sad day man (granted it was bound to happen soon)

rose is what got me into basketball as a hobby and why the bulls are still my fav team to this day

thank you rose for changing my life in some ways 🌹🐐

  3. I wish he would’ve signed a 1 year deal with Bulls but nonetheless happy for DRose on his retirement! Enjoy the rest of your life!

  4. It seems like a cruel joke that we would get an MVP, a defensive player of the year, and the most improved player, and all of them would peak when the other was injured or growing.

  5. 😢 it still hurts I was and still is the biggest Drose fan I bought every shoe up until the injury watched every game had it on record if I worked or couldn’t be in front of the tv at the time literally didn’t want anyone to tell me the outcome of the game I had to see it for myself what a time to be a bulls fan always in my eyes the greatest point guard ever

  6. DRose will always be a legend. Yeah, he didn't win a championship as a Bull, but I don't think people who didn't watch the Bulls back then don't fully realize what a force of nature the kid was. Watching him battle the Heat often putting them on their heels all on his own was beyond impressive. The cases of "what if his knees held out" or "what if the Bulls FO had actually gotten him a second shot maker" will probably always be one of my biggest sports what-ifs.

One of my favorite Derrick Rose memories will always be how he loved to ball out at Madison Square Garden. There's that classic photo of him mid-air, knees tucked up, going up for a reverse double clutch two-handed dunk at MSG… and he's smiling. Just that picture of him, the kid that normally struggled with his emotions and anxiety at times, hovering in the air, head damn near the rim… smiling without a care in the world, doing the one thing he loved. Even as a Bulls fan in my mid-40s who was a highschooler for the dynast run, that shot of Rose might be my favorite basketball photograph of all time.

We may never have gotten to see Rose's career hit the peak he deserved because of the injuries, but I think he still knows he's retiring as one of the most beloved players of his generation.

  7. The most exciting years since Jordan. Will forever be grateful for him I just wish he would have learned how to maintain his body starting with how to land.

  8. The streets in the hood acknowledge the greatness of Derek Rose, shame on the Chicago Bulls not signing Derrick Rose to make it a fitting retirement for this man

  9. You always held down the city, Pooh 🌹 surreal ass day. I remember that rookie season like it was yesterday

  10. I was way too young for the MJ era , but I will always be nostalgic for rhe DRose era

  11. i was a toddler in Poland when MJ won in the 90's….. Started watching NBA during 2010-2011 season…i saw BULLS and ROSE playing for the first time and i knew thats my team from now on forever! |
Thank u for the memories Derrick!

  12. The refs didn't help either… that 2015 Lebron game winner should never have been… oh my, what could we be talking about now if they'd just been competent??? Thanks for the content and stay strong

  13. If not for D-Rose and his injuries the Bulls could have been another dynasty with a few moves made it could have been possible Rose could have had his own statue outside the United center. Rose will be missed he provided a new hope and gave Bulls fans another reason to be excited to watch the team again ascending to championship status. I wish him all the best in retirement. Thank you D-Rose for the memories

  14. I still wish the Bulls would have gotten him instead of getting Satoransky that year Rose ended up in Detroit. He was supposed to come home that year. It's alright though, Chicago will always love D. Rose. If anyone saw his healthy years, you knew he was special. I also love that his former peers are all honoring him today as well. For what he meant to the team, his number should be retired.

  15. Bulls should be organizing to retire his #1 jersey and have it hanging from the rafters of the uc. Absolute born and bred Chicago Legend ❤ 🌹

  16. I keep my head up by thinking somewhere in the multiverse Drose and the Bulls got some championships

  17. 🌹DRose was the reason I started watching basketball.

DRose taught me some of the most important lessons for life.

Ignore the noise and move quickly, fearlessly, and intelligently to rise above.

Persevere even if you don't reach your height.

    Actions speak louder than words.

I will always wear your attire proud knowing you thought me these lessons more than anyone from afar.

In memory of all you gave us on the court.

    Much Respect. 🫡
    Thank You, Derrick Rose. 🌹

  18. I followed the Bulls through their two 3 peat and got absolutely heartbroken in the post Jordan era. Rose was the player that brought me back to watch Bulls games and the NBA. Even when the injuries struck, I was hopeful that Rose would return to partner a blooming Butler. Alas, it was not to be. I can only wish that Rose would consider retiring in a Bulls jersey. Please do that for the fans, he deserves it more than anyone in modern era NBA.

  19. I’m from Cape Town South Africa and rose made me fall in love with the sport. The ability to be so quietly aggressive and be so consistently clutch pre injury. Fond memories dreaming we’d make more and more playoffs before the horrific injury and the team being dismantled again. He will be missed ❤️🌹
