[Highkin] Surprised Thibs signed off on that. He was NOT a fan of KAT in Minnesota.

this is the thing that befuddles me the most, how tf did thibs sign off on this

  2. RapsareChamps_Suckit

Thibs looks like he loves more stress

  3. Literal_Satan

Yeah I thought there was still beef but guess not

  4. Jonjon428

This kinda feels like one of those “sounds good in a vacuum” trade.

  5. Milliephoria

source? being a wolves fan for KAT’s entire career this has always felt pretty fabricated and revisionist post Jimmy. Thibs played KAT heavy minutes and was a key part of his offense

  6. CummingInTheNile

lmao Dolan giving his coach say in a trade?

  7. SternballAllDay

This was the worst trade we coulda done. Dont bother saving this to remind me in 9 months how the knicks are the best theyve ever been with kat. It aint happening.

  8. Lollll now I’m imagining Thibs finding out from Shams like the rest of us

  9. HolyRomanPrince

The softest star of the last decade in New York. Championship expectations. Hardass coach that didn’t like him. Hilarity will ensue

  10. The_real_bandito

If you had a choice between KAT or Randle, who will you choose?

I would choose the 7 footer.

  11. Bournerounderz

I thought the same thing. KAT is the exact opposite of what Thibs looks for in a player.

  12. HustleWilson

How do we know that Thibs signed off on this? The FO and coaches aren’t always in agreement with every personnel move that’s made and evaluate talent differently.

  13. Saucy_Totchie

A lot of things have changed with Thibs since coming to the Knicks. One of the main differences since Minny is that he’s not the one calling shots now. Iirc, he was the PBO for Minny making him charge of roster moves. He’s not anymore for the Knicks.

Another thing I noticed that is that he had a rep for not playing young players. However first year here, he had both rookies Immanuel Quickley and Obi Toppin in his rotation even in the playoffs.

    People change.

  14. yanansawelder

Can’t wait to hear the owners didn’t advise Thibs either lol. Get ready to play 42 mins a night buddy.

  15. gOPHER3727

Thibs has never not been a KAT fan, this is a misconception based more on Jimmy Butler than Thibs.

  16. TrickleUp_

I highly doubt Thibs has a problem with KAT like people think he does

  17. purple-nonfictions

Do Knicks think they need Kat to beat Sixers/Embiid? Maybe that’s one X factor

  18. dragonwhale

Brunson is gonna be huge for Towns. The overall culture at the Knicks might be the best in the league. They got an incredible mix of vibes and hunger to win. Even Towns might be cured a little bit of his bitchways but obviously he’s still gonna be the weak link.

Thibs is a pretty different coach compared to back then. He’s a lot more willing to adapt to his personelle. Sure, he still has a type and a way to play, but he’s no where near as rigid with it.

  20. Miserable-Lawyer-233

Consider this question asked in July:

    >Why haven’t they found a stretch 5 to maximize floor *spacing*, give *Brunson more* room to operate and hit *more* targets when he’s doubled?

    Not that surprising.

  21. sometimes you don’t know what you got until its gone

  22. McGinnis_921

Honestly I’m not sure why the Twolves signed off on this trade either. Feels like they downgraded their roster. They don’t beat Denver last year if you swapped Randle for KAT.

  23. Thibs hand shaking…

“THIS AINT GONNA WORK TEAGUE. NAH-UH.”

  24. Thibs also hated Randle, so is it that surprising?

  25. Jonthesinner21

People grow , people change. I don’t think people hold on to grudges that long. At least I don’t

  26. WrinkledRandyTravis

Thibs can die of gonorrhea and rot in hell
