KAT chokes in playoffs. Definitely a financial move for Timberwolves. Wolves don’t like success and find a way to f*** it up.

Naz Reid is gonna start in Towns place. He started in his place last year when Towns needed meniscus surgery and the team didn’t miss a beat.
Also Towns is a liability in the playoffs. Y’all should know from the WCF. He has consistently turned the ball over and gets into foul trouble. This has been a consistent problem for the past decade.
If Randle ever stays healthy, the Timberwolves will be a bit better. I still think the Mavs can beat them in a series.

Both Knicks and Wolfs trading out Kat and Randle is good for those teams.. trading them for each other. is basically trading Doesn't Fit for another Doesn't Fit.
This on court this year will make the wolves worse, randel is not a 16 game player, injury prone and a poor shooter. the knicks however quite scary in the east, I would actually put them above 76s for sure now. Contracts wise its a good move for the wolves but with ther cap situattion I doubut they will have alot of cap space still but might avoid the second apron

The Wolves got better and the Knicks are not much better for the playoffs imo. KAT doesn’t have it between the ears haha. The Wolves now have a clear-cut 2-year window before Rudy, Naz Reid and Randle all expire.
KAT isn't even worth 1/5th of what is paid. All his points are garbage time, low impact player. He's a bust. TWolves are better now

Randle is injury prone and that has been an issue these past few seasons. Rumours has it that he can't stomach the idea playing 2nd fiddle to Brunson or something along those lines. It became apparent even more so when Knicks started winning without him. It would be very interesting to see how will fit with a team led by a young superstar and talks a lot. Like a lot, a lot.
As a Mavs fan, I still would love to matchup against Wolves in the post-season lol.

Towns and Randle are the same. Both injury prone but Randle is a beast inside. It will hurt the Mavs. Donte can play one of the best defense on Kyrie.

I think Wolves are marginally better, improved depth, Randal just needs to be solid with his 3pts, Dante is a great overall player. KAT for NY…as a 5?!? Not so sure, I think it's not good but only time will tell…worried about their defence
I do think overall Timberwolves got better by sacrificing some of the stardom for more depth. However, Timberwolves are now even more favorable of a matchup for the Mavs because of the lack/inconsistent spacing coming from the Frontcourt.
This was the wolves version of trading kp away for financial flexibility and the ability to now trade Randle and other assets for the right Star to put next to Ant and Rudy.
This was a bet on Naz Reid (which I think is a very good bet,) and a KAT salary dump. 50 mil a year in this new CBA for a player like KAT who sat & watched Reid play over him in the Mavs series… you can't have that. The Twolves get to move up Reid. They got off KAT's salary. They get a 15.5ppg on 40% from 3 in Donte for 3 years on 12mil annual average. Then they get a draft pick. I also don't think this makes the Wolves worse. A starting unit of Mike Conley, ANT, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, & Gobert with the Knicks players coming off the bench is a strong playoff rotation. Naz at center with Randle at PF is a strong frontcourt as well. Donte can play 1-3, so i dont see his minutes dropping too much. You may see a situation where the Wolves start Donte, ANT, McDaniels, Randle, & Reid…
Without question the Knicks got better. They couldnt retain iHart due to salary rules. Mitchell Robinson is injured and may not play much this season. The Knicks HAD to get a center. Not only did they get one, I truly believe they got the best one available. In my opinion, the better centers wouldnt be traded. While Randle & Donte are good players, they are more disposable than a center. Brunson is a "in talks for MVP" caliber player. KAT has averaged 23/11 on 40% from 3 on his career. Bridges & OG are ELITE two way players, but fantastic wing defenders. Josh Hart would be my 5th starter personally, but if Mitchell is healthy you could run twin towers in certain situations.
Julius randle always plays well against the mavs. We should be a bit worried.

😆 KAT was complete trash against Dallas in the playoffs. Great move for both teams. Minnesota had already replaced KAT twice over with Gobert and Naz. More Naz is not getting worse. Sneaker way both team better: They traded one star in Randle who needs the ball, but was playing with a superstar point guard with massive usage, for a player in KAT, who needs a point guard.
It’s honestly the most mid trade I’ve seen in a long time. For the Wolves side Donte is good I like that part for them the only issue is they are crowded at guard now and that makes the rookie PG pick not make sense now. The Randle for KAT part they got worse in a lot of aspects and the biggest one is spacing and that’s the reason they couldn’t beat Dallas and now it’s amplified also Randle has been historically bad in the playoffs and I’ve said it for years Randle as a 2nd option isnt good he needs to be a 3rd option with a lot of spacing on the court for example if he was on OKC that would be by far a much better fit. For the Knicks it’s a dumb trade you just locked yourself into 4 years of a massive contract and they have to still pay Bridges so this team will be the one they are locked into for 3-4 years once they pay him and will be a 2nd apron team.

The Wolves got the same 2 guys they already have just less talented. Randle is Ant 10 years ago. And Divineceso is a version Jaden McDaniels.
This limits Minnesota’s ceiling! I think Donte is immediately a 22 pt a game monster and he and Edwards become a great offensive duo. Those two plus Gobert, McDaniels and Dillingham will “potentially” play much faster and be more fun to watch. This solves their cap issues and makes it easier to extend Naz. Eventually Rudy and Conley move on and Reid replaces Gobert in the middle. The two tower experiment ended when Rudy got caught on an island with Luka. Dallas made this trade happen and the Timberwolves figured out they could be just as dynamic (or more so) on offensive and more versatile on defense. I like the deal for them because I just don’t see Randle starting in April and he COULD BE a beast coming off the bench matching up with guys like Kleber and Naji. They are much more physical now off the bench with Randle replacing Anderson. Starting him would be stupid so he’s going to need to fix his attitude. Or leave.

wolves are mostly same.. unless theres another deal coming to ship randle for something else. Randles a better creator but a worse shooter. they needed creation next to Ant, but they also needed shooting from their big next to Gobbert..Donte will help on perimeter for sure. They swapped their problems. As for KAT fit – Thibbs likes to have 5 that can protect the rim, this aint it.

Kat plays zero D! He is not a center. He is a oversized 4. That is his biggest problem! He to big to play 4 and plays to small to play the 5.
