It sounds like the KAT trade has been in the works for a while now. The Mitch Rob injury probably just made the Knicks give in and include Divincenzo, whom the Knicks had been holding back in the discussions.
If Mitch Rob is slated to be out for and extended period, IMO the teams interested are going to be the tankers or non-playoff teams with cap space to absorb that contract for that last 1st rounder the Knicks can trade. I doubt this trade is going to pull a big name player, more like a depth big to fill in behind KAT. Best case might be Richards. The only team with real cap space is Detroit, but I can't see them moving Duren. Maybe Stewart for Robinson, that 1st and a smaller contract like Kolek or Dadiet? Or to Charlotte for Richards and Tre Mann?

1. KAT’s natural position is a 5 2. He should be playing the 5 not the 4 so other teams opposing center have to come out 25 ft to guard him which opens things up for Brunson to work 3. We should trade Mitch for either a 4 or bench help. 5. I actually think precious would be great starting at the 4 because he is a good defender/rim protector. My two cents. Thoughts?

What is going on is that the Rose Agency took on the gigantic contract of KAT. He will be receiving over 50 mil. The reason they traded for KAT is because Rose has been trying to get his own client KAT on the Knicks even though he has none of the requirements to play Knick basketball.

Why are some Knicks fans treating Robinson like he is a huge asset? 1) he is injured for at least three months. 2) there are no guarantees after those three months that he will be able to play up to his past standards. 3 ) he is always injured, which is why the Knicks fans want him out. Other teams know his injury history too. 4) He makes 14 mil a year, which is not a lot by NBA standards, but it is a lot for a team to take knowing his injury history. No one wants to get stuck with 14 million on their injured list.
