New York Knick fans are still processing this BLOCKBUSTER trade that occurred where NY sent Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, a protected Detroit first-round pick to Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns. Once this trade occurred, everyone wanted to know why the Knicks made such a monumental move. According to multiple NBA Insiders, one of the main reasons NY traded for KAT was due to his fit next to Brunson being better than Randle’s overall fit next to JB. KAT and Mitch should be on the floor together
Towns is more versatile than Randle. Stronger and more consistent. Hate to see DiVincenzo leave but Towns makes the Knicks a difficult team to deal with.
Losing Donte , Dam
Younger and healthier! And just remember, he might do better with the Knicks because he won’t be the man he can just fit in and be part of the team ! And hopefully I’ll be part of winning the NBA title for the first time since 1973. Randall was good but he was breaking down and he still wanted to be the man.

None of the fans think KAT has Orange and Blue in him…. Edwards is a younger player and had to push Towns to play BIG! In the playoffs….It’s embarrassing for a 7fter with his skillset

Mitch gets hurt every year.we needed a replacement.Randle wanted more money that the Knicks were willing to give.I heard Dante did not want to go back to coming off the bench for limited minutes.Thats why the deal was done.
So..all this talk about the Nova Knicks and Nova boys reunion…looks like its not happening Donte must be pissed
Donte is what really hurt me!! Not Randle he's a ball hog
We traded an all star for a superstar: Towns gives us versatility bc he can play both 5 and 4 (so all this bs nonsense of playing Randle and OG at the 5, a recipe for disaster, is over); provides bkup insurance whenever Mitch is hurt; creates space for JB to form an incredible pnr threat; divo gone means Kolek plays now to feed others (Sims benefits, too, playing next to a scoring 4-5 and with Kolek now in the 2nd unit next to Deuce) and; Towns can not only play off the ball but can pass from the high post.
Soft? Only man in the nba who's dared try punching Embiid in the face…
Knicks now more than an ECF contender and the Finals r now the realistic (rather than hopeful) end post bc now we r not stuck- dependent on Mitch's health for the season (huge!).
Actually, a few people did expect it and said Rose would not give up on his multi-yr attempt to get Kat, esp those who look at what thibs n Rose do, not wt others say they should. Many fans can't see it bc their bball philosophy is very different from that of Thibs' n Rose…

Karl Anthony Towns is no Walker Kessler bc as I've said all along, the problem wasn't Sims but Mitch snd THAT was what needed to be addressed.

Towns just seems satisfied to be in the talks to be a great player. He does not try because he doesn't want to get injured. He'll never play hard
The reason why Knicks made this trade. 1.Hartenstein left, and Mitchell Robinson was still injured. Wont return till January.
2. Julius Randle contract situation. OG got 40mil. You think Julius is not going for the bag!?!?
3. Kats' contract is settled already. He's locked in.
4. Now there is no question who's team it is. Brunsons'!!!

The Should Keep Donte
not crazy about KAT – he has the stats & skills but if you watched last years playoffs, he played soft, disappeared at times and looked clumsy. He does get pushed around inside and plays more like a 3/4 with his perimeter play. Giving up Donte is crazy but they did need size and you gotta give something up. Donte & I Hart were a big reason why they made a run last year with their toughness and resiliency and this new version of the Knicks might take some time to jell to make a title run in the next few years.
Randle not signing ext. and going into free agency did it for me. And besides I think randle was a bit annoyed with the whole nova Knicks fiasco… something told me he felt excluded.
They got rid of a dogg!! Who played under Bean for a Katt 🤷🏿♂️

Hoping for the best for the New York Knicks. I'm not happy about the trade, but I understand the logic of the trade. Love that KAT is finally a Knick. Sad to see Randle & DiVicienzo go.
