If both teams are fully healthy I’d still give the Cs the edge. Continuity of a champion core counts for a lot. Plus our main guys are entering their prime so there will be significant improvement. Also If Tibs doesn’t change his usage strategy then a lot of his players won’t reach the playoffs and none of this debate would even matter.
Not too worried about NYK honestly. Towns is a poor perimeter defender & the Celts will make him pay for it. He’s still young at 28 and is coming from laid back Minny to a city where he’ll be under a microscope and will have a ton of pressure on him. Maybe the Celtics will trade Payton Pritchard, Derrick White, Drew Peterson, and 2025 and 2026 1st-rounders to the Mavericks for Luka Doncic and Trade Al Horford, Luke Kornet, JD Davidson, and 2025 and 2026 2nd-rounders to the Nuggets for Nikola Jokic to challenge Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks.

Boston beat nobody in the playoffs and think they are untouchable. Lol. You still have nothing for Brunson. 39 points. In 3 quarters last time up. You have to deal with OG who knicks were 26-4 with last year and we have the Nets best player, now we can talk about Towns. 😅 it's going to get scary. I didn't even mention Hart.
Kat is a slight upgrade for Knicks. But its no where close to putting them over the top against the Celtics, especially with them also losing Donte Divincenzo with Julius Randle in the trade.

I know this is a Celtics vlog and I know I’m going to get attacked. Having said that, this is the reason why he’s bringing up the Knicks because he’s worried about them.
The last time the Celtics played the Knicks they got blown out by Knicks by 38 points. Without Randle, without Robinson and without Anunoby. With Porzingis playing and he got punked. You’ll say oh it was just a regular season game ?
The reason they traded for KAT because they needed a center, not necessarily to go against the Celtics but his addition will give you fits because he’s the best three point shooting big in the league. You couldn’t do anything with Brunson he gave you the business. Towns will do the same because he’s the perfect fit for the Knicks because he you double or triple Brunson not only will Towns light you up but Bridges is a 20 point scorer. Josh Hart will fast break you to death, he will destroy on the boards. OG can score too and is a lockdown defender at the wing. I know all about the scoring abilities of Tatum and Brown and the shooting and defense ability of Derek White and Jrue Holiday. I think the Knicks and the 76’ers are capable of beating the Celtics. However time will tell , it’s going to be very interesting in the east this season. Incidentally Towns had his best scoring and rebounding seasons under Thibideau so they couldn’t that much not getting along. They both said they squashed it years ago. Also if Towns was a horrible defender he sure shut down Jokic in the playoffs last season ?

With KAT joining the knicks, it is a bit scary, we somehow mange to beat the pacers, after haliburton was injured, and cleveland after the injury to their star player, we have to win and remain healty till KP joibs the floor.
The answer is "NO"…Celtics just need to stay focus. They're among the elite in the NBA. The Knicks will do what they'll do. We're better.
I would fear the Knicks except they got a center I don't fear and are led by a tiny guard and I watched too many teams having a tiny guard be their failure point to be scared. OG and Bridges are like knockoff Tatum and Brown. If anything, I expect Knicks and 76ers to meet in the playoffs and their centers will wear each other out before meeting Boston in the next round. I mean, are you really scared of a center known for being soft, a tiny point guard, and dollar store Jays? They decreased their depth when having healthy players under Thibs has been an issue for every team he's ever run into the ground.

One thing this podcast has taught me is worrying will not affect the outcome of how the Celtics will do. Heck, spent a week recovering from bypass surgery because I worried too much about his team and I just watched them destroy a Mavericks team effortlessly.
Health, matchups, planning and luck will determine the outcome at the end of the season.
