But but but but, he hates it here, he wants out, this was just a pitstop before he went to Miami, or LA, or NY

If anyone has footage of Tim Bontempts eating crow regarding Donovan leaving, it would be highly enjoyable

It was actually an insane gaslighting campaign by sports media that he hated being here. He never once said anything even close to controversial yet it was a nonstop message for his entire time up until the extension.
And it won’t go away. We have a bad regular season or don’t make progress in the playoffs? “Donovan Mitchell wants out of Cleveland to go play for a contender, trade request incoming” will be the new standard.
Having LeBron really spoiled us in a way as success in Cleveland without him is unprecedented and we are just a feeder team for the Lakers or Celtics apparently.

What I found so interesting about this answer was the state the Cavs were in during this month.
Mobley was hurt, Garland was hurt, and there was large speculation about us blowing it up after a pretty much awful November.
Then we go into December on an absolute heater and Donavon playing some of the best basketball of his career.
It truly felt like that winning streak lead to his final decision in his head.
