  1. Question: Will the Spurs be instituting their 2014 passing game? Because if they do, look for them to be in the Finals. Does that sound like a hot take? Consider this: Wemby is a far better player than Duncan. HOFers Manu and Parker were not elite players in reality, but they were super elite at following the passing game plan. Even today CP3 is every bit as good as Tony Parker was. But wait, there is more to say about that.

CP is a dedicated hooper. He loves to play and to play well. He sees an opportunity here with Pop and Wemby and will be motivated to be in peak condition. The cover story is that CP3 is here to bring forth the future. Pop would love for you to believe that. His real strategy is to surprise the league.

IF the team – which is comprised almost totally of team players – masters the passing of 2014 by the end of the regular season, this year could become the storyline of historic proportions. Consider that the last three championship teams have all been masters of great passing, namely the Celtics, Nuggets and the Warriors.

Passing is the greatest offensive weapon a team can have. Even Steph Curry relies on it. My former high school had about 450 students, yet the school won five mythical national championships, according to USA Today (before high school basketball factories became a thing.) How did they do it? They passed the ball.

  2. audio from some reporters, is terrible, its honestly shocking given the resources the spurs have, especially with more eyes drawing upon them in recent years, a shame they haven’t stepped up media day quality.

  3. Pop giving out TED talks now! Hope you coach for another 5 years and stay healthy! Winning days are coming back.
