In memory of Dikembe Mutombo’s amazing personality, here’s an interview with Conan O’Brien in which he talks about his love for the Three Stooges where Conan gets him to suck helium out of a balloon to try a Curly impression

  1. That quality makes it look like it’s from the 90’s.

    Is it?!

  2. I had the chance to interview him myself when I was an intern reporter during the 2003 Finals. Super nice and respectful guy. Some other people I talked to that day (*cough*Bob Lanier*cough*) were not.

Oh fuck, I missed the news. What a great dude and fun player to watch. Fuck you, Cancer, fuck you up the ass with a cactus, Cancer.

Condolences to his family and fanbase.

This one hits deep. Dikembe was such an influence on Africa with his heart of gold.

I’m glad he left such a legacy and impacted so many people that can take a piece of what they learned from him though.

Conan came from a place of true kindness and fun. That’s what people are really reflecting upon, because we don’t have a lot of that today.

Dikembe had a heart of gold and is someone anyone should look to model themselves after and emulate.

This dude Conan looks like he’s never aged

Even behind the desk, he makes Conan look small, and Conan is 6’5

Man this one stings for me. One of my personal faves and very underrated. Him being snubbed off the top 75 was so dirty

    Dikembe was a saint.

Physique of a giant and heart of a giant.

    He will be greatly missed.

  10. Conan kills. And Dikembe seems like such a good, kind soul. RIP

I might love Conan’s laugh more than anything in the world

No no no no nooo this is not the way I find out Mutombo has passed!!!!! What an incredibly HUGE loss. His work post-retirement has been absolutely critical. Such a larger-than-life human. I’m incredibly saddened to hear this.
