Whatever you may think of him, Masai is such a great speaker and I always look forward to hearing him speak.

This one hits deep. Dikembe was such an influence on Africa with his heart of gold.
I’m glad he left such a legacy and impacted so many people that can take a piece of what they learned from him though.

Dikembe was and is a Giant in not just his stature but his presence and impact in Africa. Especially someone like Masai who grew up watching and following him at his peak. This is a very tough day for so many within basketball.

58 is too fn young. Dikembe was such an important figure to many Africans, leaves behind a larger than life legacy.

This is pretty much how we all feel here in Denver.

Denver and Colorado loved Dikembe and loves Masai.

Dude didn’t have to say a word…you can see how bad it hit him

Fuck dude. Props to Masai. It’s ok to hurt.

Touching – and I’m glad he didn’t try to be a tough guy or mask his feelings. Dikembe was a special guy and Masai wasn’t afraid to mourn his loss.

That smile, that voice, that finger wag. Exuded pure joy while on the court. Way too young, man. He loved basketball. It’s really cool to read these comments and see that basketball fans loved him just as much. This one really sucks. RIP.

We miss him in Denver.

It really is incredible to see the scope of his impact. Hakeem was Nigerian, but Dikembe was *Africa*. He was an incredible ambassador for the country both in helping his people and spreading the truth of the beauty of his country, as well as influencing countless young Africans who are now men and women involved in the WNBA and NBA. An underrated pioneer and a true legend.
