Wiggins shooting 6 3PA per game was not entirely bad. He made those numbers back in 2022 before his father (rest in peace) got sick, and he made those on high percentage too (40%).

I don’t care how many he shoots I want him to make them. If he chucking like Klay was then I don’t wanna see 6 3s a game. Don’t need to take Klay’s spot from last year.

hmm, i’d preface this by saying, steve is a much better basketball mind than i could ever hope to be. But, I am slightly confused about this approach. It is clear that Wiggs at his best is an elite defensive piece and complementary offensive piece, who gets points as a function of the offence rather than asking him to go get you a bucket. Imo, a second option needs to be someone who can effectively create something out of nothing when the offence breaks down. Wiggs was that guy in Minny, but he was inefficient as a go to scorer.
I wonder if it would be better to feature JK as a secondary scorer, as his inside slashing game gives the Dubs a good 1-2 punch w Steph’s shooting. Plus, it is clear that JK would be more comfortable w/ that role than Wiggs would be. So maybe, it would be smarter to adjust the offence to feature JK as the second option, rather than trying to peg Wiggs in a reduced KT role?

Why burden him with trying to make him something he’s not (a no. 2 on offense) when what you really need is something he’s actually done in the past few years when he’s at his best—be an elite defender. That’s all we need from him. Don’t ask him for more offense when we need JK to round out his game.

frustrations already lol. Minny tried to make Wigs into a #2 scorer for years and it never panned out. He is who he is. He is a complementary scorer with great defensive instincts. Let him be who he is and dont force him into a role that he has never lived up to.

Not mad at it. Better chance Wiggins provides spacing than for JK to all of sudden be a serious threat from 3. If JK can become a better rebounder and overall 2 way player I’m okay even if the jumper is still a work in progress.

Steph on and klay off: wiggs shot near 45% from 3 with a 62% TS.
The issue was volume and his klay minutes where he struggled mightily; 33% from 3 and a 51% TS.
