Here’s JJ Redick saying he envisions a 9-man rotation and discussing which guys are competing for rotation spots off the bench. He said he forgot someone when running off all the names (Dalton Knecht):

From the pictures today. The bench squad looked like:
PG: JHS
SG: Gabe
SF: Dalton
PF: ?
C: Hayes
Edit: Max! But I saw him wearing the purple jersey. That’s for starters right?

I think if Wood and Vando are out for opening night, our rotation should be as follows:
We should have the starting 5 of D’lo, Reaves, Rui, LeBron and AD.
Off the bench we should have Gabe, Christie, Knecht and Hayes/Koloko (most likely Hayes I think).
It’s difficult to predict a rotation now for when everyone is healthy though, since it will depend on how players are performing and fitting into certain lineups throughout the start of the season.

We only have 9 healthy guys, hard to envision anything >9 right now lol
TheWonderfulLife
Are the 9 viable player options in the room with us now?
xmrjaredx
guaranteed to be in the 9:
DLo, Reaves, Rui, Lebron, AD, Hayes
two of these are not guarantees when Vando comes back:
Gabe, Christie, Knecht, Reddish
Hurt:
Vando, C. Wood

Christie need to be first off the bench.

I just hope JJ isn’t liking Instagram posts as long as he keep its professional and transparent I think he’ll be a good coach. I’m dealing with that now with the Raiders 😂🔫
Dicey12
I like how he has a clear plan already now if he needs to adjust something he can do that. I don’t have much hope for this szn but JJ has said all the good things so far
mozeze
Jeez, 9 men to start the season isn’t great. I hope we don’t burn Bron & AD to the ground.

JJ pulling the dad/coach motivation tactics already 😂

Dalton Knecht:

He’s gonna play Bronny 20-25 mins a night lol

I’m not sure if it’s unintentional, but it would make sense for him to “forget” the rookie. If it was intentional, he’s sending a clear message to Knecht about how much further he has to go. The thing is, even if it’s unintentional, the message remains the same: Dalton needs to make a bigger impact to stand out.

Knecht will be 6th man by Christmas.
