Update on CHSN

CHSN has signed agreements with Astound/RCN, DirecTV, and U Verse.

In addition (per their website), they have or are finalizing agreements with TV stations in these areas:

Chicago, IL: WJYS, 62.2 and 62.3 (On air)

Rockford, IL: WSLN, 19.3 and 19.4 (On air)

South Bend, IN: WNDU, 16.2 and 16.4 (On air)

Milwaukee, WI: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Grand Rapids, MI: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Des Moines, IA: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Champaign/Springfield, IL: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Paducah, KY: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Cedar Rapids/Davenport, IA: (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Peoria, IL: WHOI, (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Sioux City, IA: KMEG, (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Quincy, IL: WTJR, (Channel Number Coming Soon)

Indianapolis, IN: (Channel Number Coming Soon

Since CHSN is signing so many OTA agreements, I'm guessing that the remaining Pay TV companies (i.e. Comcast/Spectrum, Xfinity, YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Fubo, Mediacom, etc.) are dragging their feet over carrier fees.

Obviously, it would be better to have these on Pay TV, since picture quality would be more uniform and reach larger/fringe areas, and it's easier to record, fast-forward, rewind, etc.

We should probably get on the cases of the Pay TV provider we use to pick up CHSN, and get on CHSN to meet the Pay TV carriers halfway about carriage fees.

That's my opinion. Others may have different views.

Thanks for breaking this down, OP. I’ll see where I can complain to YouTube TV and reply with a link here.

This was a botch job to say the least. Us Xfinity users being left in the dark. They should have had this app figured out before switching over.

This needs to be resolved for the streaming services ASAP

Hopefully they can get this done for Xfinity. I don’t feel like getting an antenna for all of the TVs in the house and having to switch inputs all the time. First world problems, I know.

When they sign with the big pay tv providers sign on. Will the over the air games disappear?

Iowa City here just checking: so the Cedar Rapids station is *not* live yet, right?

Only two streaming TV services, DirecTV and Fubo, still prioritize RSNs. I hope I’m wrong but I wouldn’t hold my breath for YouTube TV and Hulu to get it.

Xfinity is definitely happening before or on the 11th (first regular season game on the network)

An app was confirmed on the CHGO podcast and hinted at again on the introductory show today, they should’ve had that ready if they knew Xfinity wouldn’t have it right away.
