This has been exhausting, I’m glad it’s finally done. Just want to be able to focus on training camp and pre-season stuff now.

I get people emotionally being upset about the KAT trade because the man was wonderful and such a pillar in the community so I’m with you there I love the guy however I truly don’t get the weird meltdowns and overreactions about the on-court team that will be out there this year.
KAT’s contract was going to absolutely fuck this team’s ability to make any moves through Ant’s prime if we held on to it and with each passing day it was getting tougher to trade as KAT isn’t getting younger or more durable. You’d be tied to Ant, KAT, Dillingham, TSJ and lots of vet minimums to try and win a title after a couple years with the way the league is structured now. The 2nd apron and repeater stuff is no joke anymore under the new CBA. It fucks with your draft picks and you get no MLE, among many other things that limit roster building and are above my pay grade to explain here but look it up it’s been written about a ton. All I know is this team would’ve been expecting Ant to carry a team to the playoffs every year with an aging KAT and not enough support. I hate snake MF Glen Taylor as much as literally anyone but this was not about saving him money. This was about maintaining any semblance of ability to add with Ant under the new CBA.
Imo this team will be just as good if not better with DDV and Julius. DDV is especially underrated here, he’s one of the best 3 and D wings in the entire league. Julius is an easy 20/10 guy, fans just want to hate him. The quality depth now with those two, Dillingham, TSJ, and Ingles all added is real solid. Finch will make the fits/rotations work if we’ve learned anything these last couple years. I love KAT but he himself shot us out of the Dallas series. There’s still nobody in the West we can’t compete with. Post-Olympic Ant will be another year better. If Jaden takes even a half step forward on offense he’ll be a lethal player, his offensive progression is a real X-factor. There’s still tons to like here.
The bottom line for me is I loved KAT, but being realistic I don’t think he’s the type of player mentally you can win a title with as your co-1/heavily leaned on 2 and his contract was going to really limit moves in the near future.

Doogie wrong about the Wolves getting an additional 2nd and instead we send out out. Never stop hacking Doogs

Thanks for posting, nice to see the details. Glad to see the protection on that Det pick goes down each year and that the second we gave up doesn’t look like it will be a high one.

Dang! The Wolves already waived Randle! I guess they didn’t really want him after all.

Kudos to Charlotte, they did pretty well.

WTF kinda trash protected pick is that. How is that even legal. May as well protect it to the third round at that point why not
Here’s your first round never pick.

Are we into the lower apron at least after getting rid of KAT’s contract? I haven’t seen anything on that
KeyandOrangePeele
I think the Wolves use that 1st Rounder as a trade piece. It likely won’t convey until 2027 but it’s enticing for getting a vet before the trade deadline
trafleslive
I think we won the trade. We are going to be flexibke in the coming years and returned a solid big who is a shot creator and an all star. We can actually go to the finals this year. We uave also the best bench in the NBA.
LeeChangIsBae2
We’re never making that pick. Those protections are nasty so I think it’s just a future trade piece.
