[Sam Gordon] Regarding changes in offensive approach, Kerr said “Really I’m talking about being more structured. Making sure we’re not playing as much out of random stuff, which we’ve done for years. But I think with a lot of younger guys, it makes a lot of sense to be more structured.”

  1. I’m thinking that on a team level it raises our collective floor, but lowers the ceiling, as we won’t be as flexible and able to make adjustments for the playoffs. But obviously we have to make the playoffs first, so that becomes more important. Also, many of the plays we run have a multitude of options built in, so probably not as random as some people might think, but this makes me wonder if those plays will be simplified to have less options and be easier to remember. I honestly think this is a big part of what Kerr has been looking for, for years, is the ability to read and react both randomly, but especially within those pretty complex plays that we tend to run. You see Steph and Dray just run the same play over and over, but make different adjustments every time. Oh, this time, I’m not going to drive, but I’ll kick it over here and relocate…
