Wemby would neutralize the shit out of this dude.

  2. coachketchup

Notice how he brings the ball down to his chest every time he catches it

That’s gonna get stripped every time at the next level. I also don’t see how he’s going to play any defense other than drop coverage or zone with his speed. He might make g-league but I doubt he plays any meaningful minutes in the NBA

  3. Bro is so slow that he makes Edey look like an Olympic level sprinter.

  4. He’s not fluid at all. Dude would get killed in the NBA.

  5. Funkytadualexhaust

Theres got to be some high tech training he can do to improve his mobility, right?

  6. ForneauCosmique

Watching him run up the court hurt me. If you’re a G League team I guess it’s worth a try but I think the pros are way too fast for him to he effective

  7. FEELS_G00D

maybe its the weed but for a second there i thought this looked like nba2k

  8. That dude is gonna make an epic human victory cigar for a professional team one day.

  9. kemar7856

He would get cooked on the court he’s slow he brings the ball down every time he grabs it.

Keep in mind for Canada he was playing deep bench minutes and averaging <5 points and <5 rebounds in limited playing time.

I suspect he’s going to have limited minutes with Florida for his first few seasons. Maybe by the time he’s a senior, he will have better physical conditioning.

    holy shit he’s 7’9 now??

idc if he completely sucks, I’d waste a late 2nd on him without thinking twice and hope he grows into being a Boban or something.

Guess who just gave us some late 2nds?

I doubt he would see a ton of time in the league; great size, but extremely slow, his game seems very raw

Also seems like defenses in the NBA would exploit how weak he is, doesn’t look super strong in my opinion

  13. ChrisJensen8

That’s me. Only 2 feet shorter, same weight and zero athletic skills.

  14. EnterTheCabbage

After a few years of intense conditioning, he could put up solid numbers for Panathinaikos.

  15. arshonagon

He needs a lot of conditioning and agility training but will be an interesting project to watch. He’s only 18 and has a chance to develop, but he’ll be in college 3-4 years before he’s a draft prospect.

To everybody in this thread saying that he moves too awkwardly/slow to play in the league: please go look at early Yao clips. For a guy 7’9 – literally a full 2 inches taller than any other NBA player in history – he moves great.

Is this a guy who will play 35 MPG, or be an all star? Almost 0% chance imo. But there is a place for him on a roster. A person that massive presents a unique challenge for defenders, and if his mobility improves even a bit he’ll be a formidable rim protector. I could see him getting 10-15 minutes on a playoff team.

I don’t think there’s any point at even looking at him until his senior year. Right now there’s a lot in his movement that looks a loooong way off. He’s nowhere close to where Edey was at a similar age and Edey was newer to learning the game. But it’s hard to develop coordination when your body is growing that much. Assuming he’s stopped growing now, he can spend a few years figuring out how to actually use his body, and then we can have a conversation about whether he’s an NBA prospect.

  18. AlexandertheMID12

He’s too slow but we’ll see, maybe big centers are back?

  19. feelsbadmanrlysrsly

He’s so slow and if he don’t improve by the time he is NBA eligible he would make Luka’s speed look like Ja.

But he could develop to something else like a fucking watchtower and play like Jokic.

  20. burnrcuzacctsuspnded

Ask me in halfway through his freshman season at Florida… gotta see him vs real competition

  21. i mean, the suns dont got many options for new players

  22. Eveningstar224

The fact that he has to back down on a dude who’s half his size and do a turn around hook shot at 7’9 is kinda….funny he should be able to slam dunk everytime.

  23. Ancient-Village6479

Everyone is complaining about his slowness but like it looks pretty normal in this clip. He barely has to try against this opponent.
