If Branham starts in place of Vassel, then what will be Castle's role once Vassel returns ? He should not be the third guy at this spot. Also it is not shocking to start your 4th pick, especially in a "maybe play-in" team

I was actually hoping the Spurs would cut ties with Wesley and Branham this summer. Maybe we can get lucky and trade them both before the trade deadline I think they’re gonna be bust picks
I think because we know Castle will have limited starter minutes (and the dude was 4th selection), he should start while Devin is out. You want to give him as many minutes as you could, so he's ready to take the reigns when CP3 is injured or when he's gone/retired. It just makes sense to develop the 4th pick over the 20th pick two years ago, which who Malakai is. Realistically Castle is our PG of the future and Malakai might be the backup SG. Its different priorities. I still think Malakai should get minutes with KJ at the 3 and him at the 2 for the backup squad, and prove himself in those minutes before we just hand him the starter role when he did disappoint (especially defensively) last year
There is a universe (maybe ours?) where Wesley becomes a lock down backup PG, Malakai becomes the perfect SG backup scoring 10-15 point efficiently every game, skinny KJ becomes our backup SF and wins sixth man of the year, Sochan shoots 37% from the three, Zack is the only one that gets injured all year, Spurs make the playoffs from 6th spot
Inspired by Wemby talking about Sochan I have dubbed our Wemby/Sochan/Castle defense "Psycho Defense", and I would like to see us crush the Mavs in game 1
I would not be high on Malakai until I saw his game. I remember it was said of DV last training camp that he didn't miss any shots however when the season started expectations were quickly moderated.
CP3, HB, Sochan, Wemby, Keldon should start. Keldon can come off the bench when DV gets back.
