From 1-10 what chance do you give the Celtics of repeating this season?
lol no
I think the Celtics could go back to back if they can stay healthy and jt doesn’t sell in the playoffs. But I think okc and Dallas has a better chance to win.
Cap
Knick is a bad match up versus the Celtics brown is going to put Brunson in hell he just a shorter Luka and jrue is going to gaurd Kat so they could switch and put porzingis on hart to Rome and in the future Tillman can replace that Al hoford role when he retires
I think youre forgetting factor 8: the rest of the C's bench, in Hauser and Pritchard. Both are also great sparks off the bench who can maintain the 5 out, while still putting up good defense even when targeted by the opponents top players (see: Finals)
I also expect LW4's defense to improve since Boston has always had a strong defensive culture, and thats really the only weakness in his game. He wont be lockdown, thats for sure, but he'll be acceptable on that end of the court
Who loves the Celtics? I love the Celtics. I grew up watching 90’s Celtics so I feel like I’ve earned this joy lol
JB is 100% the heart and soul and engine that makes the Celtics go. He and Jrue bring the intensity on the court and it rubs off on everyone else.
KP a wildcard. He could come off the surgery and get injured again.
Our luck? That would happen… Hope I'm wrong
The Celtics f'ed around and found out for years. I think they proved last year they are done with that.
Crazy how Luke came to the Celtics with a 3pt shot, playing behind TimeLord for Brad… Ime must’ve talked him out of taking those shots… real shame.
You didnt notice Celtics second unit they actually won against nuggets this pre season. Tillman Queta Hauser and other young men in the bench are pretty strong too.
Wasn't the injury KP got in the finals a torn ligament in the foot right by the ankle?
Already 1-0 in the preseason vs the 23 champs the Nuggets.
Hmmm I think you missed the part where Nuggets starters dominated Celtics the entire time they were on the court. Watch the replay scores.
Funny thing is, the "worst case scenario" aside from the health aspect, has already happened during the 4-5 years leading up to the title run. IF healthy they will repeat no question. Pray for health
Far too early to say, been a Celtics fan for 40 years, i would assume they can win it again, but i would rather not jinx the team.
I'm of the opinion that if the same 'unlucky' thing keeps happening, then it's not just bad luck or circumstance… it's a set of actions and behaviors leading to negative results.
Joel Embiid shouldn't be playing that guard-style flopping garbage at his large and heavy frame. He's undisciplined with his body composition and it leads to injury
Think a lot of those worst case things are bad dream fantasies. Chemistry? Last thing in the world I'm worried about.
If KP is somehow lost for the year, yes, that's a serious ding–but idea that even something that serious would unravel the team is kind of preposterous. An injury to any of the starters would be a serious issue, and both of the guards are now 30+ (we don't even think of this, but it's a real factor). Meanwhile, NBA fandom and punditry have been forever tainted by KPs injury history with the Knicks and have never stopped viewing him through that lens. Truth is, he's no more injured than MANY stars in the league (he averaged only 5 fewer games per season than Marcus Smart for 4 years BEFORE last season. Did anyone ever fret about Marcus being injury prone?). He's no more or less likely to be "lost for the season" than any number of people–we don't look at him objectively in that regard.

THERE ARE 2 REASONS TO BEAT THE CELTICS … THERE SELVES AND INJURIES ..
