Our bench looked great. Our starters are going to start clicking soon… the rest of the league is completely fucked and I do not care!
Tyler Kolek
A few thoughts:
Deuce is the reason Divo was tradeable. 6MOTY incoming.
Payne and Kolek both looked really good. We don’t have to worry about a second unit PG.
Shamet looks like a really solid pickup.
It was great seeing the most stacked Knicks starting 5 of my lifetime. They need some time to gel and that’s what preseason is for.
LGK
I demand Pacome Dadiet minutes
This was supposedly one of the weakest draft classes in history. Can someone please explain how Kolek fell to the second round?
Kolek is nba ready
Washington Jr was an opp
Fun game. Deuce looks ready for his upgraded role which is super encouraging
Kolek is 100% NBA ready and will be JB’s backup!
Hornets fan coming in peace! That was fun!
Every game Deuce McBride comes closer to filling the Quickley shaped hole in my heart
#GIVE ME KOLEK OR GIVE ME DEATH ☠️
Starting off with a W. The crew looked good, and are only going to get better.
It’s on.
Duece is the new Donte.
Kolek is the new Duece.
Shamat is the new Hart.
Cam is the new Rose.
Just how Leon drew it up hahahaha
Seeing Taj and KAT 2 grown ass men hugging after the game just feels so wholesome
Bench looked solid today. I was really impressed with Sims. Still interested to see how we mix and match. Lowkey I think Deuce should start
I know it’s a preseason game but I did like what I saw from all the new backup guards. Hopefully they will step up all season in place of DDV.
Half of us the game thread, thought Sims was Dadiet. Deuce cannot be traded!
Respect to Brunson for jumping off the bench at the end of regulation to help that Hornets player up. He’s real for that
I fucking love kolek
Yall! Sims *did* play good!
Good thing they won, I was going to scream blow it up if they lost this game.
How was Kolek playing tonight?
I’m guessing the main bench players right now are Payne, Deuce, Shamet, and Precious. Im wondering if that’s the second unit we’ll see in the regular season
I know it’s only preseason but Kolek for ROTY

Bench looked fantastic with great chemistry already. Lots of ball movement, no hero ball that would be typical in pre season games. Mcbride and precious took big steps up, looking smoother and better defense. Kolek looks great and is a great distributor. Found a lot of tight pockets even under pressure.
Shamet and Payne did great, shots weren’t falling for Payne, but he got good looks. As long as shamet or Payne have a hot hand, we always always have a spark off the bench when we need a 3.
Mitch will look great with this line up when he’s back and if we upgrade the 5 and trade a few pick ups, that will be huge.
The starters need a lot more time to gel to get the spacing right. Need to involve bridges more often rather than a spot up shooter, be needs to cut more. Og and hart looked really rusty, can definitely tell they didn’t touch the ball much over the summer.
Brunson looked good as always. Kat had lots of open looks but didn’t knock them down.
Overall, I give the team a B with the win and fortunately it’s the easy things to work on.
Precious playing 33 minutes in a preseason opener is hilarious. He looked gassed at the end. Where was Pacome?
Safe to say, more three attempts and Shamet becomes equivalent to DiVo
*phew* for a second there, I thought we would’ve had to blow it up.
Kolek is pretty high in the rotation, his fans around here can rejoice. I still wanna see Dadiet and Hikporti
How slowly the starting unit started just shows why we will miss Ju, the game speed when incorporating Kat is so weird. I know we’ll figure it out though, we just will likely play a little slower on average. All that matters is we convert, which, will be no problem in the future.
Shamet is going to fill that 2 role off the bench so well. I wasn’t familiar with his game. The fact he can be decisive and effective if deuce or cam is ever in trouble is promising.
Kolek, shamet pairing could go crazy in the future. Maybe not near future but I like the idea especially off the bench. So… lots of guard depth… yay!
Cam is solid for sure I am happy to have him.
Sims did well and I think has something to prove BUT Toppin might be better & could be better than him soon if he physically develops to handle bigger 5’s
Hoping it’s sims & presh and they rotate well but, we’ll see 🤷🏽♂️
GG’s
Hornets will be an annoying lil bro this season for sure
Duane Washington Jr. – Once A (Westchester) Knick, Always A (Westchester) Knick.
That said, fun game! I like how our bench is turning out.
Deuce is the best player off the bench. Oh how the worm turns.
So glad we held onto him
Does Precious look like he’s in better shape than last season?
The players I wanted to show out, showed out. And that’s the bench unit. And shout out my guy Kolek.
