Perfect Robert Williams Trade

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/41646209/clippers-say-pj-tucker-away-team Salaries match and we would drop $1 Million this year and Tucker expires at the end of the season. We'd just cut him right away and let him find his own deal. Thoughts?

why would we do this? rob is good when healthy. we don’t need cap space either, it’s not like we are any sort of free agent destination. we’d just be giving up a good player for literally nothing

I think I’d rather try to rehabilitate Rob’s value than take on a 39-yr old washed player just to cut $1M in salary. Everyone on the team seems to love Rob as well.

Rob is worth having on the team more than just empty cap space.

If they wanna provide some draft assets, sure, but I don’t think they have much worth offering.

Ultimately I’m fine moving on from Rob though. I think Cronin made a big mistake trading for him and Brogdon. He took a big risk on injury prone players for one of the best defensive guards in the league, and it hasn’t panned out.

Nah, I’m happy with gambling on TimeLord staying healthy and him having more trade value at the deadline.

This is not the way I’d like to phrase it, but everyone will have a lot less to fret about here if they think of Williams as having two and only two potential exits from the blazers roster: retirement from the NBA, or a **profitable** trade.

That’s it. Those are the choices.

So long as there’s a *chance* we can get him healthy, he is a massive potential talent worth his roster spot and salary right now, and an absolute steal if he gets back in the groove.

If he reaches the end of his contract with the blazers without getting healthy enough to play significant minutes at a high level, he’s probably done in the league. He’ll be waived and become a real estate agent or something.

There were only a few teams in position to push in some chips on his health. We’ve placed the bet and it’s off to the bookie, all we can do now is wait.
