[Stein] Before coming to terms on a blockbuster swap with Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns mere days before the start of training camp, New York made multiple trade runs at Utah’s Walker Kessler…It is believed that Utah wanted at least two future first-round picks for Kessler…

Danny what did Walker show you that makes him worth 2 first?
someone should tell will hardy that danny ainge values him so highly
– Totally Not Danny Ainge
Lmao delusional
Sounds like the fleece master needs to unzip that collar down to get some air to brain.
wonder if when he says “2 firsts” one of them was the detroit one that ended up going out for KAT.
You want Jordan Clarkson? 87’ Jordan and 5 second round picks.
I mean, is there really a better center available for 2.5 millions a year ? I can get why he has value for win-now teams
This is an actual problem with Ainge. Every trade has to be a resounding lobsided win for him or else he won’t make it. He has to be the robber every time lol.
And now they get nothing, because ol’ Danny doesn’t wanna inconvenience his former team.
An example of delusion
Danny ‘almost’ made a trade Ainge strikes again. He gets assets off by winning lopsided trades for future assets, but when it comes to making trades to better team immediately he always failed.
Hol up…
TWO FUTURE 1ST! For Kessler?! A limited, role-player big?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s a pretty steep haul for a guy that at times Utah did not look like they necessarily rated particularly highly… (For the record, I really like Walker)
Kessler is obviously going to be a Pelican
for some reason the Jazz organization dont fuck with him
Because the Knicks already traded their 2025, 2027, 2029, and 2031 firsts to Brooklyn, they can’t trade any of their own picks by the Stepien rule. That left only the Detroit pick (2026 top 11 protected, 2027 top 9 protected, turns into a 2027 SRP) and the Washington pick (2025 top 10 protected, 2026 top 8 protected, turns into 2026/2027 SRPs).
It seems very likely that neither of those will become firsts. Should we have taken 3 (will likely be high) second rounders for Walker Kessler? The balance becomes much different with that in mind.
Classic Danny ainge, not gonna trade unless he scams u. It’s why Brad Stevens has been way better
Probably would have been better for the Knicks. He’s a good rim protector and cheap. Towns is the opposite plus great offense.
Fuck Ainge bro 😂😂 there’s valuing your players then there’s Ainge just wanting to rip people off
Damnit, so Utah could have prevented this behemoth had Danny not been such a cheapskate?
That’s the price you pay if you want to make a deal with Danny Ainge.
I hope this Utah rebuild blows up in that guys face. his resistance to win-win trades is disturbing. I hope he burns bridges and over plays his hand and finds himself in contract hell with people walking in free agency.
If the Knicks offered the Detroit first, it’s really a second rounder in 2027 because of the protections on it.
If this is true, Ainge probably asked for one of the Knicks firsts too, so it’s a bit silly to talk about this as 2 firsts for Kessler.
Danny ainge is a chore to have to deal with I bet
Ainge is clueless if he think he is getting 2 first rounders for him.
Is he worth a mid round 1st? I’d say so. But not in this upcoming draft.
Maybe it was the trade package was DaQuan Jeffries for Walker Kessler… and they wanted the 2 FRPs for not getting back anything.
Danny just held his organization hostage for absolutely no reason at all. Sucks to suck buddy
Ainge gonna keep Ainging
Danny is really overplaying his hand….
Danny must be a pain in the ass to play Catan against.
The only two first-round picks that the Knicks can trade are the heavily protected Detroit and Wizards ones. Those will in all likelihood not convey and turn into 3 distant second-round picks.
If that was Ainge’s asking price then I’m glad the trade didn’t go through (as a Jazz fan). Whatever his mental issues are, I still like Kessler’s upside or even floor for that matter. Worst case scenario he’s a serviceable defensive big that can provide you with close to a double-double and a couple of blocks in any given night.
If Ainge really wants to trade him, better opportunities will come (perhaps as part of a bigger deal).
Two firsts for Kessler is wild
Kessler plays like slightly above the replacement level average FRP
Therefore he is worth 1 FRP, not 2.
Not all firsts are equal. If it’s just NY picks being offered, why would Ainge just take a single pick in the mid-late 20s for a clear rotational piece on a cheap deal?
Danny Ainge constantly looking to fleece another GM. The Pistons FRP that the Knicks traded is a valuable commodity- top 13 protected in 2025, top-11 in 2026, top-nine in 2027 and will convert to a second-round pick if not conveyed by then.
