  1. An overlooked part of why KAT isn't here anymore is he was begged for two years by coaches and smart analysts of the team to shoot way more 3s, but never did, instead consistently opting for his reckless drives to the basket. Dante D will let it fly, even in non-starter minutes.

  2. I couldnt get through other wolves breakdown videos on youtube. Decided to just wait for Howls and Growls. Worth it.

  3. Any channels that criticized or doubted this trade are simply ignorant about the realities of the Curry Era. Divincenzo is exactly the type of plug and play off the bench offense Minnesota has needed for a minute now. Julius Randle will be a nice inside, midrange option, especially if Naz Reid and McDaniels take the next step in their consistency from deep. These two will SURPASS Towns on both ends. Even with all the upgrades in the West, if these two are able to average in the high teens, with DD and Randle off the bench, this team will be in the Finals. Gonna be an exciting season.

  4. Donte was letting if fly without hesitation and everything looked so smooth and clean. This is the type of player the wolves needed: high volume movement 3pt shooter.

  5. If Ant said he learned the most from Curry in the offseason with the off-ball movements, theoretically it should work with Randle when he is the initiator or draws defenders.

  6. They want Edwards to get an MVP. In order to pass Luka he needs more assists. They just gave him 2 automatics assists. This is all about trying to put Edwards above Luka and Shai

  7. The idea that Gobert's job can be getting DDV open off ball rather than always being involved in the pick and roll with the ball handler has me excited! I hadn't thought about that. Great video!

  8. I've truly seen some silly analysis of this KAT trade. Even from some folks who allegedly know BB(Hoops Tonight)

Only those who follow the Wolves closely can analyze this deal properly.

In a word, KAT was expensive and overpaid compared to his production, specifically playoff production. Inconsistent when it really matters. And 9 years in the league and still hasn't learned body control when driving to the paint and is a charge machine. He got better defensively but still with lazy feet which again, gets him in foul trouble. Ant said as much last year during the run.

Add on top of that the main reason to give up KAT….He Is SOFT!!!! I see none of these so called analysts mention that factor..there is a reason Jimmy Butler called him out and why he demanded a trade from MN. He knew KAT is soft and not a winner, doesn't have the killer instinct. Ant said the same thing but he said it nicely. He said if KAT were more aggressive he could take over the league. That was Ant's nice way of saying dude is soft.

So, basically the Wolves got two super competitive DAWGS who love nothing more than to defend and attack. Get a guy in Randall not scared to bang away in rhe paint. Got a defender, facilitator and 3pt shooter in DVD. Naz Reid emergence made KAT replaceable. And in Joe Ingles, another 3 guy who can still play a little D and all the other bench players…..we have depth and scoring and defense…..and got WAY cheaper!

    Great trade!

  9. With Conley being 37 and Donte not needing the ball to be effective.. To me the x factors on this team will be Rob Dillingham, Naz Reid, & Julius ..

Rob Dillingham if he can use his abilities to really help create easy looks for teammates and remain patient when getting his. Utilize plenty of pick n rolls whenever he does have to be the main PG for this team.

Naz Reid. Is as simple as him being able to play the 5 in spurts off the bench next to Julius at the 4.. Whenever Naz is not playing the 4 himself… Other than that. Naz continue doing what he's been doing. Just improve gradually in other areas where he can.

Julius… He's coming from a knicks team where he never truly had spacing at all… Didn't have wing shooting most of his 5 year knick tenure…

He didn't even get to play in a 5 out offense. It maybe happened a total of 5 to 10 games in very short spurts over the last 4 years. Never had a stretch 5.

He wasn't even used in pick n roll that often to get him down hill / separation from the defense to create.

So as he's drawing all of those double teams… Not only did he not have wing shooters most of his career… No stretch 5… No 5 out line up at all…

So even though he didn't even hold the ball as long as Jalen Brunson did …. When teammates are standing still and there's rarely any off ball action being ran when Julius has the ball with non floor spacers…

It makes him look worse & more selfish than he actually is…

In New Orleans Julius was in the 90% tile as a roller , out of pick n rolls.. AD barely played that year… They had a G league point guard most of the time.

Really it was mainly Julius and Jrue Holiday on their own.. AD many games wouldn't even play the 4th quarter before he ultimately sat out due to LeBron recruiting him & he wanted out.

But knicks had Julius in the 10% tile as a roller coming off of pick n rolls…. How is that possible when your "PG" is Jalen Brunson who was 2nd in pick n roll ball handling…

And that just means he was initiating the pick n rolls but he was coming off screens n rolls and scoring for himself.

Brunson avg. 11pts out of pick n rolls alone… Julius as roller avg. 0.75pts and wad ranked 150th or so in roll man usage.

Pick n rolls weren't a big deal to knick fans but your star player Jalen uses them to get his rhythm and spacing .

While Julius can't get any help with spacing.. I recall Hartenstein in his very first knick pre season game. He shot a 3 and made it.. .

They wouldn't let Hartenstein up his volume of 3's to space the floor for Julius who's minutes overlapped into the bench unit since he played full 12 minute 1st and 3rd quarters with no breaks.

But they allowed RJ Barrett to have stretches of below 20% from 3..

The moment Julius is traded.. Is when the knicks care about a stretch 5? Not the entire 5 years prior?

Bucks always played 5 out.. Philly 5 out.. Indy. 5 out.. Boston always played 5 out.. Denver.. 5 out… Miami didn't really have a stretch 5 but Bam could gget going in the middy and score.

Jalen Brunson was 2nd in time of possession (8 seconds) even before Julius got hurt. Luka Doncic was 1st.

Julius was never even top 10 in time of possession.. But he got deemed a ball stopper because he gets the ball and teammates who were mainly non floor spacers are standing still ball watching.

And that is the absolute truth from a person who wasn't delusional watching the games and didn't have an agenda .

They made Julius Randle average 8 shots from 3pt per game 2 seasons ago… Before they even gave him a stretch 5 option off the bench.. Or used him in pick n rolls.

Maybe he could be a more consistent shooter… If he had the luxury of somebody CREATING easy shots for him that leads to him getting a layup or down hill…

He's more efficient in the corner 3… But a bully ball guy like that at the end of the day.. You want to get him down hill.. Being aggressive and play making.

The knicks just didn't do that at all really with/for Julius.. That's why Julius was highlighting the coaching in Minnesota about it being EASIER for him

  10. I know it's one preseason game but if you can't overreact to sports then where is the fun? Donte, Naz, Rob and if Minott can look near as good as he did that second team offense might be impressive.

  11. Looking too good to be true. 1st preseason game hype! Not very good defense in this game. Josh Minott looks like he should start on a team.

  12. I think the combination of cap space, more time for Naz, and DiVincenzo does actually make the wolves better off from this trade, as crazy as it might sound at first glance. I love KAT and I hope he succeeds, but he was going to do to the wolves what Kirk Cousin's contract did to the Vikings.

  13. Donte and Randle are pretty much KAT all in one. The difference is that you get 2 players on the floor that essentially can do what KAT did when he was on the court. If you pair them with Gobert, then you get the height in the paint and that range all at the same time a long with Naz Ried. Cmon now. What are we saying? These lineup variations will be death line-ups. The depth will allow certain players to rest at certain times, and you can still make it work if someone is injured. Joe Ingles also is a huge 3 and D. The wolves will profit from the 2 rookies they picked up. McDaniels alao taking the next leap. This Roster is insane.

  14. 28 years I've been die-hard and it seems like things are finally going to work out for us. I'm going to soak up every moment of the next 4 to 5 years.

  15. He seems to want starter minutes and will be unhappy off the bench. There's a reason he's been on so many teams.
