NBA Insider Shams Charania reported that Exum suffered a serious injury that could require surgery. The Mavs signed Spencer Dinwiddie in 2024 NBA Free Agency for this exact reason, and Dinwiddie, along with Jaden Hardy will be expected to step up in his absence.
– In other Mavericks news, Mavs head coach Jason Kidd added to his coaching staff with former Lakers head coach Frank Vogel joining the Mavs as a consultant. Kidd was an assistant on Frank Vogel’s Lakers coaching staff that won the 2020 NBA Title with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
– The Mavs had their first scrimmage of the 2024-25 NBA Season, where AJ Lawson, Naji Marshall and Derck Lively all stood out. Luka Doncic vs. Kyrie Irving ended in a win for Doncic’s team.
