Only preseason game 1, but our regular rotation without Dillon and Tari looked nice on both ends. Only real question is Adams with that switch-heavy defense. Sengun looks more athletic after the offseason, and should do better there. But even healthy Adams after ramping up may not fundamentally fit that scheme.
Sengun having the 3 point skill but not mentality was pretty apparent. The only one he shot was clean in form and fell in, but he definitely didn’t take a few opportunities. He often makes it work anyways so as long as they somewhat respect it it’s good.
The game ended after 6 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Nothing happened after that.
Edit: We shouldn’t need 11-15 (14 for now) for most of the season. But if injuries hit hard, I at least can feel okay having McVeigh as a spacer. Healthy Jock is good, and Unc can hold his own. Holiday when he knows he’s not the guy in the regular season is fine. And while I really like Tate, he just is not a good fit for the team. Like I’d have McVeigh over him just for the spacing, which feels crazy to say. I pray we never have to play Dante and co this season.
We won when it mattered, lots to like from our rotation guys

The main guys looked rusty but for the most part exactly like they should be
The Jazz keeping their starters in for the entire 3rd and acting like it was a finals game against our 4th stringers was the hilarious part of this game.
Saw what we needed and it was mostly good. Don’t really care how the G League guys look in an NBA preseason game so them losing a lead to the Jazz starters and bench unit isn’t a biggie.
It’s been great watching our core group get busy out there. Would of love to see Tari, but I guess we’ll see him next game. I’m very happy with what I saw from Sengun, Jalen, Cam, Bari, and Amen. They were good on both sides of the ball.
We looked so focused on defense in first part of game. We drifted as it went with different lineups but the starting crew was locked in. I love it. Amen gonna be good this year. Can’t wait to see him and Tari wreck teams.
It’s Christmas in October for the Mormons
Our top 2 guys were pretty good
Defense looks phenomenal when we’re playing seriously, the offense looked clunky at certain points but I see the potential to look better with a few tweaks. If this translates to regular season, play-in is very realistic
