What stood out to you in the Mavs first Preseason game?
I am proud to see Jayden with 21-9-3-3, growing into that guard spot. Lively looking like a man amongst boys against the grizzlies starting 5. Omax showing growth, and Gortman surprising the world 😅 AND WE DIDNT EVEN PLAY OUR STARTERS…. This team is DEEP! Idk how long it’ll take to gel, but I think they’re all so talented and just natural hoopers that it won’t take long for them to fall into their roles . One thing I’ve been saying is if the mavs can somehow get a B.I type player on a decent contract then it’s over for the league. If you add to this roster, a healthy 6’10 4 who can dribble, create, shoot, and defend 3-5, then prepare for a dynasty. The west will be going thru Dallas for the next 5 at least. What better time to shoot for BI too? His value is thru the basement and the team don’t want him . Maybe Naji can be like Kai with klay
That's what I wanted to see!!! Lively looking like a beast cause he's just more comfortable with the NBA game. And everyone else showed out with some good stuff.
Lively: It's exactly what I was hoping to see from him. Just more polished down in the post. Push his hook shot & touch stuff out to like 5-8 feet. And maybe even a 10-12 jumpshot? Not asking him to bust out with 35% from 3. But if he can be a Short Roll King that would be huge.
Hardy: it's a Hardy Party!! So it looks like he can continue his playoff success into Year 3. Got his shot dropping, was running the offense with like 8 or 9 assists, even had a nice steal & some active hands in the passing lanes. Exactly the kind of step I was hoping Hardy could make.
Naji: Loved how smooth on offense he looked. And he is gonna bang those offensive boards too.
OMax: I was impressed with his efforts on the offensive boards as well. His shot looks a LOT better. Looks like he can be a guy you can give some minutes here & there with.
Grimes: I could see the POA defense that Kidd could really use. And I can see the potential of him in this offense.
And everyone else was pretty impressive. I can see the Mavs HAVE to cut someone that other teams will covet. That's how deep this Mavs team is. Like who is Gortman? You've gotta be kidding me with how deep the team is. But he looked pretty nice. Lawson showed some progression. I liked some stuff from this 7'5 kid. The kid from TCU was doing nice things.
Ja morant is cursed for stealing Kai’s shoes. Kai already had spoken how they weren’t built the best and this athletic freak just steals the design rather than rebuilding it around his style. That’s what he get. When nike cut Kai, I don’t think ja waited 24 hrs to jump in his grave
I would love the Mavs to add Trey Murphy and Jarace Walker.

Man they had Ja playing until the 3rd quarter. Why on Earth would you have your injury prone star playing that long? Mavs second and third squad looked amazing. I'm sure Frank Vogel will pitch in to get that defense up the standard.

It’s not fair to judge hardy and write him off the way some do when he hasn’t played valuable minutes that he’s rightfully earned.. critique him based off his playoff performance, even then it’s not that big a sample size. The convo should be does hardy deserve to play 15 min a night? Once he has that with a reasonable sample size it would be fair to argue his spot on the team. He is a better player than dinwiddie and exum probably even grimes.
