[Trudell] Rotation wise, JJ Redick noted that he really liked the switching group late in the 1st Q vs. Phoenix with Davis at the 4, while still having size at the 5 (Jaxson Hayes).

Friendly reminder that Hayes is still super young and an athletic freak. I’m anticipating a jump

Oh dear God my heart lmao
I’ve been begging to just see a Hayes/AD lineup. I REALLY like the idea of an AR/Max/Dalton/AD/Hayes lineup. They’re BIG, can play interesting defense, and has enough shooting to justify two bigs (replace AR with Gabe and it works fine too).

Sometimes I forget that Jax is like 24 lol

Not super high on Hayes but at least JJ is trying something. I’d rather see Wood there when he’s healthy and I think that Wood/AD/Bron frontcourt is something that JJ is def thinking about

Love to hear it. The size advantage is so notable with a Bron AD Hayes trio and allows so much flexibility on defense with how well those two bigs can move in space.

When wood gets back id like to see him instead of hayes tbh cuz he doesn’t hack so much and theres spacing upside on the other end

did ham try this rotation before? I can’t remember

I’ve been fucking yelling at the TV about this for like a year especially against Denver omg

I liked what I saw from Hayes against Phoenix. Not numbers wise, but my biggest concern with him last year was what a spaz he was out there. Things like going for a behind the back layup when he could have easily just dunked it with no one around, or just going way to hard down court and fumbling the ball. He seemed to slow things down and not get himself into goofy ass situations that lead to a turnover.

Playing AD at his preferred position more and figuring out a way to make it work; what a concept.

I think Hayes can hopefully get better and did some good things last year. The other thing to consider is that Hayes is basically all we got (wood injured)… at least reddick is thinking the right way and using 2 big lineups.

Hayes is only 24. Young, goofy, and very athletic. I like the call, worth a shot. AD and Hayes already have chemistry from Pelicans days.

still 0-2 in pre season /s

Really bummed Kel’el and Edey both went earlier than expected. Love Dalton but it would been much easier for them to get impactful minutes

To me AD at the 4 means that Lebron should be back at the 1 and you bench either Dlo or Reaves and put Vando or Rui at the 3.

I like how JJ is taking the preseason seriously and experimenting

I feel like JJ is starting his “this is all fine but you know we need another big, right?” campaign to Rob

Honestly thank god Ham was fired. I would not be able to handle another season watching drop coverage or leaving players open for three every game.
