Miami Heat: Is their roster balance its best in years? | Five on the Floor

Ethan Skolnick and Greg Sylvander break down the Miami Heat’s roster one of the ways that the team does it: by age bracket. Is this the most balanced group in that sense, since a team more than 20 years ago? (They also address some social media chatter that came out of the “Starting Five” series on Netflix, featuring Jimmy Butler).

  1. Think they need to prioritize a ball handler in the second unit. Imma be honest, I don’t think Dru Smith is a ball handler you want in the second unit. He can’t do much with the ball. Still waiting for Highsmith to show a little improvement bc he didn’t show much. I can see him and Nasir Little fighting for minutes. At th le back up 3-4.

  2. Spo’s platoons in game 1 were trust levels. Level 1 is his starters. Level 2 are the guys he trusts to play. Surprisingly, Pelle made that cut. Then the promising level 3 with the summer league guys that need to earn trust and level up. Ware’s roadmap is pretty clear.
    Next man up indeed.
