Your argument for Ochai makes a ton of sense, Will. If we're going against tough perimeter threats (which is most teams tbh), I think it'd be wise to start Ochai even if it's going to hurt the offense a little bit. I'd hate to throw Scottie or Quick on Maxey, much more Gradey. Ja'Kobe is an underrated option for the starting lineup. Also, I'd start Mogbo/Scottie at the 3/4 as a stopgap solution when RJ is out, makes the lineups more balanced imo

RJ goes to the free throw line meaning he puts his man in trouble. that's defense.
Never talk about a 22 6 5 guy in RJ with a 8 pt guy like Gradey that's unusually ridiculous.

I would like to see Gradey improve his defense because I know this would help the Raptors more than if anyone else's defense improves.
You are correct about defense its a team sport and Darko needs to drink more peppermint tea on this one Scottie isn't the answer for all your problems, he will end up injured very often in the next 4 years

I believe Jamal Shead is a better starter. The 5 starter should be Scottie,RJ. IQ, Jakob and Jamal Shead. Coming off the bench Gradey as six man Ja’kobe Walter 7 so on.

What about Jamal Shead starting. Then you have a defensive point of attack guard in the first and second units and you take a lot off wear off Quickly's legs in game and over the long run. It also adds much needed shooting to second unit if Gradey comes off the bench. Obviously Jamal is a rookie but this is a development year anyway and it creates a defensive focus for 48 minutes. Its outside of the box but I think it could work.
I like your takes here, generally. I think that, certainly at the start of the season Chris has to play. We're too damn small otherwise. We only have one other real big man in Jakob; I 'm not counting Kelly because he provides no rim protection and little rebounding. Unless we trade for more size, this year Chris has to play.
Boucher needs to switch to power forward, Scottie moves to small forward… R.J. to shooting guard… Yakob, and somebody else… The slow guy…
