  1. I think once Huerter, Lyles, McLaughlin and Monk are able to lead that second unit fully, it will get the second unit back on the right path. Not perfect, but well improved.

I hope whatever is going on with Malik Monk is something where he and his family are okay. Yes, we need to respect his privacy. Now, if unfortunately this stretches into games 2,3,4 of the regular season…I think we all start asking questions about what happened.

I hope that the Kings consider making a roster move or two to help extend the bench a little. Look at the guys who have been cut from some other teams who look like they played decently well, just didn't have room on the roster to keep guys.

See if one of them might be a good fit. If the Kings can get an 11th guy, I think it helps in making sure this team has that little bit more depth.

He doesn't have to do a ton, obviously…but if it can be someone who brings a good skill set the Kings are missing a little of, it is a big help.

I hope whomever is leading the scouting department has been keeping an eye on guys who have been playing with good teams especially to see if one of them might make sense for a roster spot. Especially in the front court.

Boston, New York, Milwaukee, Indiana, Cleveland, Philadelphia in the East and Denver, Dallas, Minnesota and Oklahoma City in the West would be the teams I am paying close attention to right now.

Anything to hopefully extend the bench a little further. Even if the guy isn't going to play a lot, just having a guy who can be a leader for the 3rd unit matters. Right now, I don't think they have a leader for that unit.

I know it is unlikely to find that among guys who are getting cut as most of them are young guys without much NBA experience. But, a few are going to be veterans who can provide stability. That kind of thing can help a 3rd unit. Maybe they aren't in their prime or well past their prime, but maybe they have enough for one last season.

  2. @mattgeorgesac: My biggest concern from these first two games, is that they both seem to be officiated differently. Game One seemed like they were allowed to play… Game Two, especially in the first half, seemed to go on forever as the whistle kept blowing. How are these guys supposed to figure out how physical they can be?

  3. Again the kings seemed to ignore their chronic nemeses defense. I am not concerned about offense , They look good. But Brown needs to address the defense EARLY Please.

  4. Monte didn't really address the bench too well during the off season he focused all his energy on DeRozan which is great but we needed some 3 & D bench players also McDaniels wont cut it hopefully when the injured players return it helps only time will tell kings should be a playoff team regardless anything less would be a complete failure

  5. Colby is strange, he looked so natural at times last season there was one or two games the weird fans started saying to start him over Huerter and Duarte lol. He looked like he understood the game well and was a smart player and solid defender, and if his shot fell he would earn mins. I think he will be alright but this sure is strange after how competent he looked

  6. Just because Huerter is a forward does not mean he will not start. I could see DeRozan as a guard and Huerter as the small forward and Keegan as the 4.
