If the preseason is any indication, the Lakers plan to have AD defending more on the perimeter against smaller players. This will likely reduce his block totals, hurting his DPOY chances. It also means he’ll spend much of the season chasing 6’4″ power forwards around screens while they launch threes, with Jaxson Hayes left to protect the rim. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Idk if it’s pre season but I feel like every fanbase is complaining about transition defense lol. (Except the young teams like rockets and OKC and ofc Boston)

Every fanbase complains about the same things… timeouts, rotations, etc. The Lakers transition defense has been bad for several years now for a number of different reasons. Don’t have any reason to believe that they will improve in this area any time soon… feel like it’s a personnel thing.
