That’s interesting. I thought the zone we’ve run so far is interesting, but curious how Vando would benefit specifically.
We’ve had AD at the top of the zone a few times and Vando would be great to secure rebounds in those sets. Rebounding is already not exactly a strength so zone is definitely a curveball or slider for us and not a fastball, but i love that JJ has so many sets installed already.

Zones in the NBA really work best with at least one, preferably two, players that can cover a lot of ground, really fast. Vando and AD are our two defenders that are really good at that.
Either way, wild that JJ has yet to coach a regular season game and is already SO much further ahead at implementing our scheme than Scam was last year

Never really cared much for the lip service… show us. One on hand it’s good to see a coach who is forward thinking about different basketball concepts but at the same time he’s talking about gimmicky zone schemes in the NBA lol. Might be effective for a few possessions or couple of minutes tops
