00:00 Starting line up?
00:00 Steph, Moses, Gary, Kyle, Draymond. Oh, your tweet? You finished your tweet?
00:16 Your message at practice for the guys was, let it fly. In the last game against the Kings, there were 28 made threes. Do you feel a similar thing for this game?
00:31 I mean, we told them to let it fly against the Clippers, too. And what were we? I don’t know. Not that. Yeah, we want the mentality of, every night we want the mentality of push it in transition, play with pace. If we space the floor well, we move the ball, we’re gonna get a lot of threes and that’s how we’re trying to play.
00:58 What are you hoping to see with this group, like what was the combination that you liked with this group?
01:04 Well, I love Gary with Steph. I mean, traditionally in their time together, they are one of our best two- man combinations. So I wanted to see what it looked like with Gary in the starting lineup. And then Moses has had a great camp and I really wanted to reward him for his play. And obviously he complements those guys with his shooting. And then I think it’s interesting just to see what it looks like with Kyle and Draymond together because of their playmaking ability and their defensive acumen. So yeah, just taking a look.
01:40 Is there going to be a point you think, like maybe late in the preseason, where you want to decide, this is my starters entering the season or can you envision nightly in the regular season doing a little of what you’re doing now, which is like–
01:54 I mean, I think everything got pushed back a little bit with Wiggs’ absence, because he factors into this. So we just have to kind of take it game by game and for now– but we want a starting lineup to form and to establish some continuity for sure.
02:14 Over the years, we always talked to you about Buddy Hield and his shooting. Now that he’s on your team, I just wanted to know what’s the make up of his place on this team. The other night he pretty much showed that he could be making six out of seven treys.
02:30 Yeah, he’s a big part of our team this year. We’re lucky to have him. He is, obviously, one of the best shooters in the league. And it’s not just the percentage, it’s the ability to make them in a lot of different ways. You saw the other night, pin downs, isos, transition. He’s our best transition runner. I don’t think anybody on our team runs the floor harder than Buddy, and it opens up a lot for other people. And, yeah, we’re thrilled to have him.
03:04 What do you think about his defense?
03:05 His defense? He got back- cut a couple times the other night, and that’s one of the things we’re harping on with him, but with the whole team, but he’s better than advertised. I think he’s he’s got a good, strong body. He’s been in the league for awhile. He knows what’s happening out there, and I think he’s capable of being a very good defender.
03:30 You catch the Sharks game last night, by chance?
03:32 I didn’t go, but I know what happened. I saw, yeah.
03:36 What did you think? Just that moment for Rick and Macklin?
03:38 Incredible, incredible. Rick got a couple of suites for our players– some of our players, his family members. Just an amazing night for for Rick and his family. And yeah, it’s so exciting. It’s really cool.

03:53 Steve, how would you describe the early impact of your assistant coaches?
04:01 They've been great. I mean, I'm excited about the new energy, the new blood, but I'm also thrilled with the way the staff is blending together. We have guys who are making some sacrifices, too, as the new guys come in and other guys have moved around and it's inspiring to see, how everybody has unselfishly embraced the staff changes.
04:32 Another coaching question, but for the Valkyries, have you met Natalie Nakase before she was– was she in the coaching orbit when she was a Clippers assistant? Do you know her?
04:40 I think I met her in passing years ago when she was with the Clippers at a shootaround, but I've never really sat and talked with her. Saw her in the hallway yesterday and it was very, very exciting. I mean, what they're building and the foundation they're putting together, and obviously Natalie is the next part of that. And very impressive what the whole organization is doing from sponsorship, ticket reservations. They're– the facility in Oakland, it's very impressive. It's gonna be fun.
05:19 Just want to get your thoughts, Coach, on DeMar DeRozan's performance the other night. Made all six shots, made a three and made both his free throws. So just want to get your thoughts about him playing with the Kings now.
05:31 He's a great player, one of the best closers in the NBA. I'm guessing he'll hit two or three buzzer- beaters this year for the Kings because that's what he does. And, yeah, DeMar's always been a big- time player. So it's a great pickup for him. Thanks.
05:50 Yep. We have our guest. Looks like it's gonna be Buddy Hield. He's gonna put on the headset and talk to us from downstairs. Buddy's got the headset on. Buddy, can you hear us?
06:06 Yes, sir. Oh yeah. Looking at the–
    06:08 There we go.
06:09 Guys up there. DoorDash radio.
06:11 Yes. Door Dash radio. There you go.
06:13 We in the booth. We in the booth.
06:14 Oh, what a pro. What a pro.
    06:16 We in the booth.
06:17 So, what do you, at this point, first of all as I mentioned in Hawaii, welcome to the club, and it's great to have you on board. In a preseason situation, you've been through this enough times, what do you try to work on? What are you looking for out of yourself in games like this?
06:32 Yeah, I work on habits, principles. Like I say, knowing what the coaches want, I work on that. Go back and watch film and see how I did and how can I correct myself to be better next game. We came out with no energy today, but we figured it out. We tried to figure out the zone, but they made two shots and I feel like they're getting more 50- 50 balls than us. And we gotta do a better job boxing out and getting to the balls, getting to the loose balls.
06:57 And since our fan base is new to your game up close, give us an idea, when you work on your shots after a practice, do you have a goal, a certain amount of makes, or a certain amount of takes?
07:08 No, just until I feel comfortable. It can take two hours, take an hour and a half, 45 minutes, just until I feel comfortable with my shot and it feels good, I'll take my ass home.
07:19 What have the coaches been preaching during camp, Buddy?
07:23 Hard play, playing together, playing the right way. Being more aggressive on ball. Doing the little things that matter, that translate to the Warriors. Winning basketball.
07:34 I know one of the things that Steve talks about a lot is not fouling. Moving the feet, don't foul. How do you think you guys did tonight in that regard?
07:42 I think we did bad. I think that, first half we put them on the free throw line too much and they were able to set their defense. And we want to play in transition and get good looks and play together, you know? And, we didn't get that. We let them dictate them by putting them on the line. But we gotta be better. And we'll figure it out.
08:01 Buddy, it's gonna be, I think, a nice season for you guys. You guys got a lot of parts that Steve Kerr can use in and out on different games, different nights. I think it's going to be a lot of fun this year.
08:12 Yes, it'll be a lot of fun. Take it day by day.
    08:14 Alright, well then–
    08:15 Night by night.
08:16 Get yourself, get yourself to the locker room.
    08:18 Yes, sir.
08:18 Thank you, Buddy. Buddy Hield, our guest.
08:21 How great is his accent?
    08:22 Oh, it's wonderful.
    08:23 It's incredible.

  2. Warriors dont have a strong interior. Best hope with our latest additions is to let those 3s fly. If and when they go in, it'll allow the likes of Kuminga, Wigan and Moody to do their job inside. With Curry and Hield, what have we got to lose?
