The amount of water carrying this sub has been doing for Donte is straight up wierd. I appreciate everything he did last year but this organization and fan base don’t owe him anything. Imma be real I don’t care. Yeah dudes are gonna feel a way especially given the timing of the trade. But I’m sure that’s all it is. Not much time to process the trade. They probably felt discarded without much thought or care. I mean Randle literally broke ground on a basketball court named after him 2-3 days before getting traded. Donte did a whole GQ shoot with his guys probably thinking he was gonna be sticking around. Understandable for both of them to have their feelings about it.
Ultimately it is what it is. That’s the business. It sucks but they’ll get over it. At the very least, I definitely believe Donte when he says he has no ill will towards his teammates or the fans. He likely does have some issues with guys on the coaching staff, and maybe Leon. But it’s not like we face the Timberwolves much during the season anyway. It’ll blow over.

Honestly when I saw the first clip of “running the team” I thought he was referencing Rick…we are all kidding ourselves if we think Rick doesn’t pull some strings w Leon and co. The very fact that Rick took exception to what was said reveals a ‘guilty’ conscience. Ddv said that to the bench in like the first quarter. And Rick brought it up at the end of the game? I’d be mad too if I was Donte. The whole “nova Knicks” turned into a punch line at this point.
For us it doesn’t matter. Donte isn’t on the team so it shouldn’t affect team dynamics. For them it could change their friendship etc but that’s not our concern.
