  1. Imagine hearing this from your star player lmfao

  2. Wow that’s already 15 games guaranteed he doesn’t play this season? So he can only miss another two per season and still qualify for end of season awards.

If this is true Embiid might never make an All-NBA team again…

like 99% of the time the word “haters” is used incorrectly by people being properly called out on their bs, but joel embiid is truly a rare human being.

Good for fans to know ahead of buying tickets

Kind of crazy that anyone has to play back to back games. I know the league is like it’s just basketball not as physical as football but….

These guys train and play at the HIGHEST level. To be constantly moving posting shooting jumping etc, wears the body down

Reason #4824 to get rid of back to backs (and I don’t even like Embiid)

  7. Mygaffer

Clearly his knee can’t take it so I’m not mad at him.

Got his MVP locked up so don’t have to try in the regular season, just gotta get a decent enough playoff seed. It’s gonna be like this for superstars in the future

Why link a literal gossip page and not the actual article with context lmfao

    I hate Tim bontemps

It’s irrational, I think he does good reporting

But I just hate his big ass face that shows up next to his tweets, if he updated his profile picture to be less close to his face I don’t think I would hate him.

But until then Tim Bontemps is my least favorite press member

Makes sense; the way his body is and how he moves, it seems impossible to play two days in a row.

Did a quick count and thats 12 games this season I believe. Not bad and certainly doable. I thought he was going to miss more this year.

If he wins a Chip (or more than one), this won’t matter. But he still ends up being hurt in May and June this will get old VERY quickly.

  14. Dymatizeee

Bro straight up said he ain’t showing up to work

  15. DonovanMcTigerWoods

He’s gonna do this and still not get through the playoffs healthy

Honestly, wouldn’t load management work better if instead of not playing back-to-backs, he just played 20mins both games with less of a stress to his body? He’d be able to help his team win both nights and I’m not a sports science specialist but the injury risk could be comparable to playing 40min one night.

Superstars probably don’t do it mainly because it would mess up their averages, but in an ideal world where the most important stat is win counts, that’s what I would pitch for.

If he keeps his word, shouldn’t his team be investigated for conspiring to keep him out those games?

  18. is-Sanic

Didn’t do that anyways but, glad we’re being honest, lol.

  19. Justice989

I’m sure the commissioner is loving to hear that.

David Stern just rolled over in his grave

  21. BoltReggae2

Nice way to jumpstart the end of your career

  22. 1947-1460

Can the sixers cut his salary in half then if he’s only playing half the games?

  23. MyEnduranceLife

This is pathetic. Pay him half the money

  24. Kontrolgaming

we can’t work 5 days in a row.. sorry boss i gotta take off tuesday and thursday because i don’t feel like my body can take the punishment. give me a break.

  25. JaehaerysIVTarg

    Man…I’m glad I’m not a 6ers fan.
