[Spolane] Ime Udoka said Alperen Sengun was doubled teamed on 77 percent of his post ups last season: “I think he’s the third most double teamed person in the league, behind Embiid and Giannis,” Udoka said.

We need shooters around this man to unlock the offense.

Double-teams are the best! It means that, by definition, someone is wide open!

And, they’re not just great for forwards. One of my favorite plays was to drive -intentionally- into one of the big-men playing defense. Take the guy who was checking me – and drive us both into the chest of their big man. Which, would give the big man no choice but to double-team me – and leave one of our big-men wide open, right by the hoop. Then, it was just a simple drop-off to him… Coaches hated it, as it looked like I was driving directly into traffic and double-teams (to be far, that’s *exactly* what I was doing), and then getting ‘lucky’. But, the passes weren’t luck. It was the double-teams that were doing it. And, you can create them, even if the other team doesn’t want to.

    Devils advocate.

It could be a product of him holding on to the ball too long and being trapped.

This is why it’s really important we get a sharpshooter at the sg spot, whether that’s Jalen, Whitmore, Sheppard or somebody else. Sengun and Amen need to be surrounded by shooters who take 3s 38% or better.
