  1. The Dinwiddie thing is more "concerning" simply because with Exum out the bench table setter role, who can fill in when a star is out feels more in flux now. Klay was getting a lot of defensive attention and was forcing some shots, a lot of them short and offline. Similar to Marshall having a bit of a regression game I'm not worried about these things being issues when Luka and Kyrie play.

  2. klay forcing shots like thj last season while guarded by djj. ends up bricking them all. I like some of the sets though looking like gsw but it makes it more complex for the team. they have a lot of TOs. also Dlive need to work on that post up, Zach Edey looking like way better than him.

  3. Klay looks like he did last season – washed. He's got no athleticism and can't create the space he once could. He'll get better looks with Luke and possibly Kyrie, but he's got an incredibly low ceiling this year.

We need to trade Hardy for a PG.

We need to try and get DJJ back.

  4. To the kids in comments.judging Klay, don't. That was not the lineup he'll be playing with.
None of these people have played together before these last two games and some will rarely see the floor come Game 1

  5. Although it is pre-season game, but I still don’t know what Mavs coach team wanna to get during this game, especially without the ball handler like Luka & Kyrie, although they can still Pick&Roll, but it seems not work and have no another tactics to use bunch of shooters efficiently, although Mavs not playing 5 outs like Celtics, but still can think how Celtics players fit in the system then make 3 seems much easier than other team.

  6. Gortman is more exciting than Hardy (and I love Hardy). In a year when we didn't have a 1st round pick, the fact that we've lucked into landing Jaz Gortman means we have to lock him up and we need to plan on developing him long term.

  7. Dude i swear, they should 100 cut naji mashall. All their games, dude thinks hes the one 😅… Hes very inefficient and bad. He thinks hes lbj or something bringing up the ball most of the time when guards like gortman or dinwidle can facilitate better…

  8. Only at the end of the year will they admit we were right all along about Klay being washed. It'll be a THJ rollercoaster all year sadly

  9. Huge game for Grimes. I'm glad to see that the potential I saw in his Knicks highlights is still there. Dude has got some serious game. Attacks the basket, nice quick 3pt shot, at least solid on defense, can make some really nice passes.

The comparison is pretty obvious. He is absolutely filling Josh Green's shoes but looks like all the aspects to Grimes' game is a little more polished than Josh. Like Josh could make some nice passes, but then he'd also try to be like Luka and end up throwing it into the 8th row cause no one was expecting it. He could be solid on defense but it wasn't because of skill, it was mostly just hustle with quick feet & hands. Green is probably a bit more of a streaky shooter than Grimes.

To me, what I've seen from Grimes is what we really wanted Josh to develop into. And I'm sure Josh can still reach those levels & I wish him all the best. But I doubt the Mavs are gonna feel his absence.

And while watching DJJ do what he does for the Clippers made me miss him around, I think that Dallas is also better off. It may take 2 guys (Grimes & Naji) to give what DJJ could on defense. But both Grimes & Naji should be lightyears ahead of DJJ on offense.

  10. At least someone shined in this game 😂Honestly though Jazian Gortman is also That Guy. He needs a roster spot ASAP. He reminds me of young Kyrie

  11. DJJ rim runs and plays defense. He has zero offense. Grimes, Nani, and Klay will bring so much more to the table offensively in the regular season next to luka and kyrie. Mavs fans are reading WAY TOO MUCH into this presesson game 😂

  12. I'm not worried at Widdie, Kidd is known to play around in preseason, to see some things he wouldent in regular season. I think he knwos widdie and what he has in his telents. He wantet to see Naji and Hardy, even Grimes a bit to how they handle the pressure of handling the ball a bit and then Gortman came up and earned some ballhandling aswell. So there were not much room and didn't make sense to let widdie run the show. He will be good with our secondunit and some with the first when luka ir kai checks out, don't worry!

  13. I am not worried about Dinwiddie as of now. But if some of you expected 2022 Dinwiddie I think you were being a bit too optimistic.

  14. We had 29 TO THATS CRAZYY!!! However we all know Luka with a mediocre team can take you to playoffs, so with this team I'm not worried at all

  15. I like how Klay had a good preseason debut and nobody cares “lol it’s preseason it doesn’t matter” “Mavs fans seriously posting highlights from the preseason” then when he has a bad preseason game with Jaz Gortman and Brandon Williams running the offense most of the game the world is falling “KLANK THOMPSON”

Man nba fans are stupid sometimes

  16. Man my kids can't miss a podcast..A daily voice in our household..
Guess That's what happens when your name your son's Dallas my oldest..And Maverick..my youngest..😆🏆

  17. Grimes was a good player on the Knicks as a Mavs fan that grew up in NJ where everyone is a Knicks fan…..he should play if Klay ain't hitting his shot pretty early
